Pfloyd Official/UNofficial Napkin Stats - Jackson ...

Scoring : Colt Chapman 17, Ray 4,McCorkle 4, Slater 3, Eisnagle 2 , #11 - 1 point

3 Pointers : 1/20 ... Slater 1

FT's : 8/17

TO's : 16

ATR : 7 baskets

... the Ironmen led at the end of the 1st period of play 9 to 7 BUT could average less than 7 points per quarter the rest of the way ... being held to but 4 fgs in the middle 2 frames for 10 points ... the "Hit Me in the Face Napkin Stat" of the game for JHS is the 1/20 from beyond the arc ...

Pfloyd Official/UNofficial Napkin Stats - Warren ...

Scoring : Evan French 13, Winland 11, Tyler Ward 9, Knost 7, Reece Patton 6, Pannell 5, Hastie 2, Henthorn 2, Michael Hall (6-5 newbie freshman) 2 points ...

3 Pointers : 6/12 ... Tyler Ward 3, Evan French 2, Pannell 1

FT's : 11/20 ... an area of concern imo with post season play on the horizon ...

TO's : 15

ATR : 7 baskets

... DEFENSE , DEFENSE, DEFENSE ... held JHS to 11 fgs on the game ... 4 fgs in the middle frames ... Colt Chapman had 5 fgs the rest of the Ironmen 6 on the game ... lots of player combinations running at a team for the Warriors on the defensive side of the ball while losing nothing offensively ...Jackson did dent the scoreboard in the 3rd quarter until 4:18 left on the clock ... 6-5 Michael Hall will be a factor in the post season off the bench for Coach Maddox imo ...

... was great to see many of the Warrior faithful tonight Excoach78, pegasus, Mrs. Coach Maddox - always a pleasure my friend, Coach Maddox - thanks for stopping up to say hello to an old man in the Cheap Seats ...

I92 - they gave him a 3 I believe ... I thought the JHS jvs had 12 before Mr. Wood drained his shot ... I have been wrong before (maybe once) LOL ... yes sir I was in the Cheap Seats tonight for this one ... I couldn't make it all the way to P'town to catch the show by Mr. McKinley tonight BUT I thought I could make it through a drive to the Apple City , say hello to Excoach78 /Coach Maddox & the other Warren coaches ... I'm beat physically - and I didn't play the game ! - but it sure felt good to go to a game ... the pop corn was really good this time around too !!! wasn't impressed last time when I saw JHS dismantle the Chiefs BUT this time! - good pop corn !!!...

Didn't think to even look for you.

Maddox is probably my favorite coach to sit behind the bench. Her coach full go 100%....to every player. He's asking the kids on the end of the bench how many quarters they had left....this was midway thru the first. Has their complete attention the entire time in the huddle.

... I92 - I loved sitting on the Warrior bench during their scrimmage in the preseason with Fairfield Union - talk about 2 coaches who coach the heck out of every trip either offense end or defense end ... Coach Maddox/Coach Brusco for FU are that for sure ... I'm with you about sitting behind the benches during games YOU KNOW who the coach/teachers of the game are EVERY trip is a teachable moment for the good ones and these coach/teachers have the attention of every player on the bench - when they talk the players listen ...

In the JV game Warren was up 44-11 around the start of the 4th (checked my sent text message) and Justin Jeffers stole the ball and made a FG and then Wood hit the great shot which made his season....great moment whether a 2 pointer or a three.

I was planning on going to Logan tomorrow for the girls game....but the change to the early start hinders my chances as my son has a morning game in Portsmouth. Was wanting some Pizza Crossing

... Pizza Crossing is a great reason to go to any Logan hosted game I92 !!! ... I hope I am up to getting out to the Logan vs Athens game tomorrow night ... had to take some pain meds when I got home tonight - held off taking any today, knew I would be driving down to Jackson ... might be able t convince my better half to drive tomorrow night on the short drive to Jim' Gym ...

... when Daniel Wood drained his shot - you as a fan KNEW that that basket DID just as you said "made his season" - felt good for the young man ...

Pfloyd: I was sitting with a friend "Jinx" tonite, and mentioned that I thought I saw you. I had a few photos of a player I like to follow shooting with his other hand. Some of Chili game, Portsmouth, Fort Frye. You could have had a glimpse of a busy season. Sorry to have missed you. Thanks for the napkin stats, I m glad you could make it out.

Warren def has the weapons, Tyler way to continue your great shooting and dishing inside to Jace and Windland. Puzzles me how you hit 3 straight 3s and you dont take another shot until the fourth quarter? BALLSCREENS? Jeremie,Austin, and French playing well also. Reese just keeps getting stronger and smarter. Only thing that worries me is the chemistry and conditioning? Seems like with tournament time approaching, thought you guys would be getting more time on the floor together to get even stronger? Hopefully you can get more running in at practice because with the stronger teams playing 3+ quarters together as a group, In the dogfights coming up ,you are gonna need stamina and looked like several kids were breathing pretty hard lastnight after tightening up the defense. Good to see everyone get playing time but really need to get a strong 8 to get that CHEMISTRY going in my opinion....Tuesday at Marietta could be one of your toughest tests, and also Chili at home, Hope this limited time together on the floor doesnt hurt the outcome.Three games remain so hopefully everyones happy because they played some varsity now, but time for the elite to stepup and play. Hang in there fellows, just keep playing hard, the Convo awaits, Go seniors!

Solid win against the ironmen...jackson too short on offensive talent...scratch your head a bit on disparity between their football and basketball talent...gonna see a shorter rotation the next two games for sure...the opponent dictates it

I agree the other team dictates several things. They dictate who the shooter is they dictate the number of players that see the floor as well as whether we have an inside out game or an outside in. I will say I was really suprised at the Jackson team that showed up Friday night. Definately not the same one that showed up at Warren, and not yhe one that kept a Seasoned Chili team close this season. Clearly the focus is on our game with Marietta now. Question is now who will the tigers allow to score how will they defend the Warriors and their ability to have five allaround players on the floor at one time? Maybe its time to put away the inspirational speaches and go back to playing organized basketball. Warriors are together. We play together, we hold it together under pressure, and we will keep it together no matter what the competetion is or isnt.

The next three games will be our tourny prep games. I see the Warriors playing their A game from here on out.

Pfloyd, I agree the young Mr. Hall has an offensive game at the Jv level. In time he will develope a much needed defensive game and learn the Warren way. At that point he will be a very valuable asset to a very respectible program.

Quite puzzling in how the 2 coaches think differently? Jv we press when we are up 35 points? Go for the Jugular mantality....
Varsity pulls back the reigns of the horses and says Whoooooaa horses.....dont wanna get that field plowed today, we have all year to do that...lol...Be nice to see everyone work on the same farm and try and take a trip to Columbus this year!

Pressing an 0-17 team while being up by 35+ points with 6:30 left in the game will not ever help a team reach the final 4.

Coach Maddox is one of the best around. The game was never in doubt once Warren found their typical defensive pressure.

The Warriors are an elite group of TEN, all of whom work hard, play hard and contribute to their team. Any combination of those TEN players reflects the chemistry of teamwork and respect for one another that this group of young men all possess. The 3 or 4 full time JV players who sit the varsity bench, I agree, does tend to affect the flow of the team while they are on the floor, but in the overall scheme of things those few minutes will not harm the elite TEN. This TEAM is TEN strong guys who will rely on each other and their coaches to get where they are going this season. All TEN need the full support of the Warrior fans.

Actually Warren goes 15 deep, But if a group cant get into the flow of the game then its tough when you play the top teams to advance. So maybe (elite) isnt the word I was looking for, maybe the stronger of the 15 is what I should have said....nothing wrong with subs because it keeps players fresh, but maybe subbing to early because of trying to get 10-12 players in instead of 8....just an opinion. Chemistry is just that....confidence-flow-team-...its been a great year so far but now its time to STEPUP and PLAY.....HOPE you are right WarriorFrosh that the rotation gets a little less and maybe even a longer rotation.....Tuesday and Friday are HUGE to see how good we are..Go Blue
