'98(i believe this was a district final loss to burg but i dont know who they beat)

except for 1998 they may all be losses, but im not sure, these are the fall, so '92 would be the school year of 1992-1993

They beat South Webster in a rough game for the Sectional title in 1998. You really should come down and look up all that stuff in my records...

its mostly a guy i know who is putting all of this together i am just helping, but we might have to take you up on that offer, i been looking at micro films of the herald dispatch(huntington) i still have to look at 98 and 99

ok, now i have every year except 1996, which i looked in the herald and couldnt find it, so i need someones memory


also, in 1994, and in 1995 we won 1 game each in the tourny, was it the same tourny format that it is today? reason i ask is that those may have been sectional championships.

I have copies from the Portsmouth paper, the Ironton paper, the Huntington paper, the Chillicothe paper, the Athens paper, the Ashland (KY) paper and some small papers from the Hillsboro/Greenfield/Lynchburg area. I also went to Circleville and checked out their paper as well as Jackson and Waverly. I even went to the Columbus and Cincinnati Libraries once each. I only covered the years from 1983 to 1999. Thank goodness I did this back before gasoline got so expensive. I don't think I finished the Athens and Marietta papers. I always meant to get back to that.

The tournament format has changed several times. They used to have sectional and districts competitions but no regionals. I would have to look up when they actually changed to three divisions. I think it was the late 90's.

2000 Hawken beat Worthington Christian 3-0.
2001 Springfield Catholic Central beat Hawken 3-2
2002-Madeira beat CVCA 1-0 (5-4 in pk's)
2003 Madeira beat Hawken 3-1
2004 CVCA beat CHCA 1-0
2005 Greeneview beat Youngtown Cardinal Mooney 1-0 (3-1 in pk's)
2006 Worthington Christian beat Wickliffe 1-0 (4-2 in pk's)
2007 Springfield Catholic Central beat Hawken 2-1 in OT

Madeira went unbeaten in those 2 years (2002 and 2003). Setting the State record at 47 games without a loss.

Thanks, I remembered off the top of my head that the SE had a good tournament set up in 1998 as we automatically got a team through to the regional finals. That was nice but it changed shortly after that.
