Advantage? Really? The word advantage hasn't been associated with St. Joe sports for quite some time. For the life of me, I just don't understand the logic of that statement and it borders on ridiculous. Advantage, wow!!!!!!!!! What an advantage?!?!?!?!?!?! :122248

On the other hand, you could have a school with just a hundred kids, practice hard, and have a good soccer team. I'm not saying anything about the kids. Just look at the schedule. They could play Burg, Minford, or Waverly, but why don't they?

Why doesn't your mighty minford falcons schedule say Columbus Desales,or Cin St .Xavier ...

Applying this logic, the Flyers' 2008 opponents average male enrollment is 13.5 times greater than theirs. If the opponents had 13.5 other sports competing for players the statement above might hold water.

Comparing scores is useless. Or is it---Wheelersburg 31 Minford1 last spring. Now dont get me wrong, I'm friends with Coach Martin but this score in no way indicates Minford's ability to play with 'Burg on a certain night just like your soccer scores don't mean a lot.

SJ has a nice record. They beat some teams in the SOC, but by record they were the bottom tier teams. But a win is a win, PERIOD. Can they beat Minford, Burg, Waverly, etc.... Who knows? On paper, no! But tournaments are about to start so lets see what happens.

Alot of talk about size of schools on here. If a school offers various sports and there is an athlete out there, I'd be willing to bet the football and soccer coach would try to get that kid to play their sport. I can think of two kids (I will not mention their names) that are very very good soccer players that play football instead. So that hurts the schools soccer team. But I'm sure it happens to both sports year in and year out.

My question: Should the OHSAA consider a 4th division for soccer? They have it in basketball and baseball.

Have any of you "Einsteins" wondered how many athletes we lose to football? That's right we don't have football but Ironton does. We have lost a bunch of great kids who were also great athletes who wanted play football. As far as being "thin skinned" you tend to be that way when you get no r-e-s-p-e-c-t. Even when one of you compliment our team, you still take a shot at our schedule. I guess SJ can be the "Boise State" of h.s. soccer and shock everyone. GO FLYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what'sthe buzz about St. Joe??I understand that they're a very small school and have a good record for the amount of players they have, but I still don't see what all the comotion is about??..I'm not trying to belittle them or be arrogant or cocky or anything like that but everyone on here knows that they most likely couldn't stand up to a lot of the SOC teams.I know they don't play minford but do they play any other decent teams from the area?Im just trying to figure this all out without people getting an attitude about it! :-D

PleasantFlyer,
Yes your schedule may have a few decent teams spotted here and there but by no means is it the same caliber of schedule that minford and other SOC teams have been playing. If your schedule is so tough, then why isn't that making the team that much better???I'm really not trying to be arrogant or cocky but people like you make me hope that a good team like Minford gets a shot at them in the tourneys and just rips them apart!! :-D Don't worry, you'll get taken down off of your high horse soon!Well shoot I tell you what, if ya'll wanted I'm sure you could just post somethin on here and the minford players would be glad to have a pick-up game with ya!Just let them know and then come on down across from the pasture of pain!

Think it's time we all get back to discussing the games and quit this petty stuff.

Good luck to all teams and see you at the tournament game.
