Mark it down Portsmouth will be in the playoffs again this season playing a home game with wins over Wheelerburg, Ironton,and West...they will finish year no worse than 7-3

If all the players that are listed come out, PHS should have a very good year. Yet, they won't win the SEOAL, as Logan should repeat. And not having Logan & ZHS is a huge break as there would be two losses.
A 6-4 mark is the worst they should do and 7-3 is possible. Trojans make the playoffs as well.

Portsmouth lost a lot but they do have some young talent coming up.

The Trojans do have some talent although the most talented group is their sophomores. It was a Huge break not played Logan and Zanesville because we didn't compete well against either the last two years. I'm thinking along the lines of 6 wins. This team will be better the next two years but if Logan and Zanesville get back on the schedule you might not be able to tell it from the record.

Go Trojans, 7-3 with a possible playoff run.

Went to practice last night. This team should be even faster than last year and they're very agile. There's also alot of size on the line, with a little playing time under their belts they will be a force.

Looking forward to the season to get started, pretty exited to have two kids on the team already verbal to D 1 schools, and other kids getting some looks also from some other schools.
you can bet this sophmore class will put some kids in college before they are done also.

Over all I was pleased with what I seen today. The Trojans are young, and will have to learn on the fly this season. Got to talk to some Logan Elm fans, and they seemed excited about this season with a new coach.
Re: An Early Look at the SEOAL: The 2008 Portsmouth Trojans
like oz said, we are young and it showed a few times, but they will get better as they play together and get some games under their belts.

Well, the distraction of the county fair is behind us and we have a whole week of practice before we travel to Lucasville. Now that we know what we need to work on I think it's likely we'll see some big improvement made this week.

This should be close
T-Prior
G-Sanders
C-Welch
G-Howard
T-Cadogan
WR-White
WR-Johnson
WR-L. Malone
QB-Myers
RB-Mallory
RB-Jackson
Didn't catch who was playing tight end, we don't use the position alot.
Defensively , I'm not 100% sure, Prior was out and I don't know if he'll be at end or tackle, which could shift guys around. Most likely scenario
ends=Cadogan, Underwood
Tackles=Prior, James, Porter
LB's=Montgomery,Kennedy, a few sophmores
DB's=L. Malone, Bratchett, Myers, Coakley
I didn't get a real good look on defense as I was watching Valley's O (I know it's traiterous but their was a family member on that side of the ball for them)
Hope this helps Loco's, someone else should be able to correct my mistakes and get you set up.
