wow - Belpre doesnt need Warren or the Fort for rivals...they fight among themselves pretty well! Go Eagles! Was actually hoping to see how things were looking for next season on this post... Hopefully Coach Plummer can fight through all the drama and actually get to coach this year.?.

Coach Plummer got to coach last year. One big thing he has to work on is his ability to manage the game situations. He gets caught up in coaching and loses himself . He needs a strong vocal helper on the bench that he trusts to help manage the game for him. Know doubt Plummer knows the game but coaching and managing the game are 2 different things. I see the Warren staff all talking and getting the coaches attention in situations, that is why you have coaching staffs.
P.S. Warren got a very talented Frosh from Belpre this year.
GO EAGLES!!!!

good point justlookin... good assistants need to be able to reach those players that the head coach can not, teach in practice, and on game night be prepared and confident enough to make suggestions without taking it personal when the suggestion implemented... the head coach's trust in them grows in time, so maybe there will be more team work on the bench as well as on the court this year!?!

ATTITUDE should be better this year for the Eagles. Some players have transfered out of the program. The talent is there but they lack an on the court leader as in a Nate Watson or Thornhill. Nate was the hustler do everyting asked of him and Thornhill could take over on "D" and shoot. I look for more defined roles this year. We are going to be thin at the point, when it comes to experience. We have 2 guys right now who will put up solid numbers, one so-so, and 2 heaven only knows. Watching this group of kids over the years I always was ready for a burst of winning but I have to say that I'm disappointed. You can put so much on the coaches the rest is upon the kids. As a player at any sport you have to want it, I haven't seen that urgency from our kids yet.

Well from what i could see Coach Plummer didnt do much coaching last year. Seemed to me he just stood on the sideline and screamed idiotic things most of the games. He must do a better job of preparation, knowing what the other team is gonna do on offense and working to defend it. Also, knowing what kind of defense they run so you know what offense to run, if you even run one. I saw very few times where Belpre executed a play, i saw a few games where they had quick hitters for lynch, but other than that, i never saw belpre run play. It was always one on one. If Belpre is gonna be successful this year then they are going to have to start preparing, and put in some plays for gods sake. Belpre has an extremely talented crop of players, losing Reggie Sims will hurt, but attitude wise, it could help. Last year, i saw some some games where Markie Tate looked like the best player on the court, and other games, he just made stupid mistakes, but he was still young, he will move to the 2 guard, where he will be more effective. He has really improved on his shooting over the few years. He will have to be the leader, he is the one with the most experience. They also have Scott Loyland back, he will also have to be a leader, he is arguably the best player on this team. He does it all, rebound, score, block shots, hustle, he will do whatever you ask him and i am sure Coach Plummer loves having Scott on his team. All in all, i think the most improvement should be from the coaching staff. Last year, i saw many games that belpre could of won, but lost due to bad execution, and not knowing what to do in certain situations. Thats the coaching staffs job to put in plays and run them over and over so they can execute them in the game, and also putting the kids in situations on practice where they have to think what to do and think of what to do in a live situation.

..."he just stood on the sideline and screamed idiotic things most of the games..." (mr/ms prodigy)

the rest of your submission actually made sense, but most people probably turned you off and stopped reading as soon as they saw that 'idiotic thing' that you typed... if I wasn't so bored I probably would have too!

I attended several games and sat in close proximity to the Eagles' bench... not real sure what you are talking about.?. I gather you are a Belpre fan from the negative, derogatory statements for YOUR own coach!!!

Go Eagles!

If we hadn't lost Sims, Belpre would be in the running for a District Championship. Tate and Sims together had to be the best post/guard combo in the TVC. I'd have liked their chances to grab a district title in '09 if Sims hadn't transferred. Big big loss for the Eagles but one we will have to overcome

Sat by the bench many games last year and coach P did just fine.

You had parents and players that were all about themselves. You had DAD in the bleachers crying about SON not getting enough shots, you had PLAYERS taken out of the game and instead of going to the bench they just run off to the locker room. You had players leave during the year. It was "all about me" at Belpre last year and the play showed it. Sure you had some kids playing hard and are team oriented but the majority of your talent (and their parents) cared more about themselves. Hard to coach in that environment.

Tate/Sims best guard/post combination? Who played the post? Never saw Sims battle...actually saw him back off, shy away from contact, was nowhere to be seen when push came to shove... No doubt about it, he has alot of skills! Wish him luck!

If you watch Tate, you will soon discover he is very emotional... emotions that could easily be mis-perceived. I've noticed much of his 'attitude' is his own disappointment in himself... Not making excuses, not pointing fingers, in fact, personally attended many games and never saw disrespectful words/attitude towards his coach which is a totally different story from phs' newest player.

Tate - one of those who you would love if he was on your team, but so easy to dislike when you go against him!

He has even figured out how to push-off in football and get away with it!!! :122249 In wide-open field, with 2 officials supposed to be watching! He's good!

Tate is an excellent athlete who has a ton of pressure on him whenever he steps out on the field or court. Belpre depends on him in every sport he plays, and I sometime think that expectations are a bit too high. I've been around him since he was eight years old, and I've never seen him act like a cry baby. He gets emotional, but that's because he puts everything into it.

warriiorfan is right, other teams don't like him because he makes a difference.
