Re: Ironton Senior league
Well another reason they should have played at Coal Grove, if they would have played at Coal Grove, they could have had 3 or 4 games played already. They would have played Monday, Tues, Wed, and Thurs, now with this weather it might not get finished until the end of next week. Their calling for rain through next Friday the 10th.

Rock Hill over SP in extra innings was finished today and then Ironton beat RH in the second game

Re: Ironton Senior league
Just got back in town from the weekend and where do I start........ Looks like there have been a couple more reasons surface as to give evidence that SP shouldn't have taken on a second all-star tourny.First off this tourny would be completed TONIGHT if it were allowed to be held at CG as proposed. There would have been games last Monday as well as this past Saturday-If both teams had enough to play-if someone didn't have enough it would have been a forfeit. I've heard that the pointers were missing 5 of their 13 players on saturday (13-5 =8) but that the "offical " reason the game was not played is that there weren't enough people to work on the field. Of coarse that would have to be the "offical" reason because I was told be THE league offical, one night last week, that "the tourny schedule was not flexible and that games would not be changed for anyone". so I would guess that since the schedule could not be changed to keep SP from forfeiting the field not being ready is as good as an excuse as any. By the way were the 11-12 tourny games played saturday? Didn't know it had rained much from Friday night, after Irontons game, till saturdays 430 start time. I think Irontons 11-12's took some pre-game warmups on the SL field before their game ON SATURDAY, so the field coildn't have been in too bad of shape. ANYWAY.....

Well the tourny will be stretched out even longer as there is no game tonight. RH and SP will play thursday and the winner will play Ironton on friday.

State Tournament update: Lost game #1 on Saturday 10-9 in a heartbreaker and won game #2 Sunday 7-2. Play tomorrow at 5:30 in losers bracket. If they win the losers bracket, then they will play for the championship on Thursday. I will keep everyone posted while pleasanttiger is away.

Top of the 7th, Wayne just hit a home run so it is now 5 to 0. We have 2 outs and Tommy is on 2nd.
