Miller @ Eastern

Post by Super trooper »

Eastern went 21/43 from the line in a 5 point loss at Miller. I'd say Eastern will end their 10 game losing skid at home tonight.

Hard to pick a team on a 10 game losing streak, but I would have to agree with Trooper. The Eagles seem to be playing better, and I'm sure they are hungry for a W.

I agree the Eagles have been playing better. I watched them play Belpre and they were in it until about 3 mins left if they woulda been able to score against Fed. Hock they woulda been ok. This might sound stupid but I think the Eagles have gotten better. I mean I don't see them winning a bunch in a row but my buddy said that Friday night they looked as good as they have since southern in a 3 point loss to a redhot Wahama team. Its not easy playing and staying focused when you are getting beat but if the Eagles have gotten better and are playing hard its a testiment
to the kids and Coach Britton. Good Luck tonight Eagles

We have got good kids that play hard & an excellent young coach but we have just got to step it up late in the games. Everybody has got to play their hardest the entire game & have more confidence offensively.
Saw some signs of confidence this past weekend.

Good luck Eagles!

I agree. I like the new coach. I think he has the program moving in the right direction. The kids just don't have the most talent. There is alot to be said for playing hard night in and night out so kudos to them. I have seen them lose their cool and take some cheap shots at times too so I hope they are past that for tonights game. This game could be ugly play wise but hopefully no one takes out their frustration the wrong way. Good Luck to both teams

I thought that Miller had beaten them at least once over the last several years. Any idea what year or years Howsie lost to them?

Congratulations to those Eagles and Coach Britton on their win! These boys work very hard. I would like to ask please leave Howie out of this. This is Coach Brittons team and let it go at that. Stop comparing the boys or if Howie did this or that. Really nobody cares. He coaches else where so let it go. This should be about the Eagles and that's it. Good Luck Eagles on the rest of your season.

Howsie coached there for what, 13 years? So references to him will be made, with no offense to the new coach or current players. It seems maybe a few disgruntled Howsie haters are the only one's who are offended. I guess those folks will just have to live with it, or find a way to erase those 13 years.

My boy lost to possibly the best miller basketball team in histroy. that wuld be the only way he would lose to them. Congrats to the coach from Britain it seems he is picking up the american style of play now. Maybe he can attend my boys clinic on the stomp and the stare to round out his coaching style this summer.
Speaking of the stomp and stare, has it lost it's luster and effectiveness? It use to be that officials could be heard in pregame locker room discussions saying things such as, "you know we have Howie tonight so be careful. I don't want him black balling us." Or the classic, "boys I don't want Howie staring me down so make sure you don't call too many against him." Or my favorite, "you boys know how Howie likes the game called, so we need to call it that way so he doesn't stomp and stare at us." But this year I haven't seen the same intimidation in the officials. Nor has Howsie won as many as many thought he would. So what gives?
