States Fished In And Bodies Of Water?

Post by kantuckyII »

This week I got to thinking about it and started trying to figure out how many different states I've fished in and how many different bodies of water.

So far I've come up with ten states and Canada,
Kentucky
Ohio
West Virginia
Tennessee
Alabama
Virginia
North Carolina
Florida
South Carolina
New York
and..gulp...Canada

I have also fished in 50 different lakes, rivers or streams but I ain't done with the list yet. How about you? states and lakes, rivers and streams...

Wow, ill try to remeber where all I have fished.

Ohio many lakes to include Lake erie, and the ohio erie canal up above Akron Ohio
Michingan
Minnisotta
KY
Georgia
Florida
New York
New Jersey
Tennesse
Alabama
Oklahoma.
Arkansas
Texas over 15 different lakes
the gulf of Mexico

Canada
Many Different areas of Germany. You want to talk abot high price fishing license no one compares to Germany. Also If you fish any area of the river for about ten miles you need a different permit to go there and any differnt lake. And you can only buy it at a town in that section.
Germany also has a law that you must kill a fish or release it as soon as its caught. You cannot put a live fish on a stringer.

Just remembered West Virginia.
also forgot when I went home with a buddy to visit Kansas we fished some Private ponds.

Wow! we got 3 countries out of OzzieOhio!

I'm currently working on the list of lakes. I'll come up with a new one every so often now. It will take me some time I'm sure. What a wasted life we've lead

For me it was Guntersville, a carp that lives down there (yuck!) that was well over 40 lbs (est, wasn't going lift it into the boat) that was caught on a 7 inch brown pumpkin seed lizard

My biggest fish was caught off the Galvaston coast, Close to 100 pounds. My biggest catfish was at a pay lake here in Ohio it was 49 pounds My biggest bass was Lake fork Texas 9 3/4 pounder I did have a monster fish hooked just below the Greenup dam but could not get it in. I fought it for 30 to 45 mins and had a large crowd follow me about 100 yards down and then back uo and back down it decided to go back up toward the dam. I never seent the fish it finnally it decided to go strait across the river toward the kentucky side and my line finnaly broke. Both my arms felt like they were about to fall off. I just wish I could have seen it roll once.

I also had a nice one hooked on Cave Run last year but never seen it I was fishing a deep water point. He buried down in the grass and broke off. May have been a musky.

It is just north of Pomeroy. It was a public for many years but is now part of one of those private vacation clubs.

I'm also adding 2 lakes I just remembered fishing in Tennessee. Center Hill Lake and Percy Priest. I also forgot an Atlantic Ocean trip one year at Myrtle Beach.

Ohio= lake forrest, timber ridge, the ohio river and symmes creek.
Oregon= east lynn river, the columbia river(salmon and monster sturgeon)
Cali= the American river, the Rogue river.
Washington. Fished every river on the Olympic peninsula mostly fish right here at home on the Humptulips and the Chehalis river. Biggest fish caught here was a 48 lb king salmon and a 140 lb sturgeon.
Ak. Fished the Keni and cook inlet. Biggest saltwater fish Ive ever caught 390 lb halibut.
Idaho. Pend ore lake home of the world record rainbows. awesome fishing there, 12 lb bows are caught there all the time...record fish i think was 24 or 26 lbs.
I fish for a living but am not counting some of the monsters I've seen caught commercialy....that would be a 600 lb halibut. Took 4 of us to gaff the thing and haul it over the rail.....I could put both my size 13's heel to heel toes out and not touch both sides of it's mouth. We pulled up a giant octopus one nite that had a tentacle span of 14 feet. Octopi are creepy, you can toss them on the deck and they will watch you till your not looking and then they wiggle their way back to the rail and they always find their way to a drain hole and get away.
