Re: (14-2) Peebles @ (15-2) Portsmouth, 2/7
Some interesting numbers:
Last year's Trojans: Offensive Avg. 60 PPG, Defensive Avg. 55 PPG
This year's Trojans: Offensive Avg. 64 PPG, Defensive Avg. 49 PPG
Last 2 games: Trojans are 16-32 from 3 point land for 50%.
Last year's Trojans had a 15 game winning streak until the State Semifinal loss to Cleveland Central Catholic........PHS ended at 21-4. PHS was 15-0 with Andrew Bendolph until the loss to CCC.
This year's Trojans were 3-2, then Mason Jordan was inserted as a starter, and the Trojans have won 12 in a row.
0 FT attempts for Portsmouth vs. Chillicothe.........highly unlikely that number will be repeated Tuesday night or for any other game this year.
Portsmouth (7-1) leads the SEOAL by 1 game........no team since the expansion in 2007 has gone through the league without a loss..........even 2008 state champion Chillicothe did not go unscathed, losing to Zanesville on the Day of Champions which no longer exists.

Well it's game day. Good luck to the Indians. Can't believe I have to miss our most difficult game of the season.

I would almost go to this game but i've been in Portsmouth all day and it's time to leave. Good luck to both teams.

... not sure if there is "A" team that can matchup with Portsmouth right now !!! The "SHOW" factor is kicking in for the Trojans ... they have been to "The Show" they KNOW what it takes to get to The Show ... they KNOW that "it" just doesn't happen "it" is a TEAM process ... I would like to see a good game when I view the Napkin Stats tonight - but IF the "SHOW" factor has in fact kicked in - look for the defensive stats for the Trojans ... defense is what gets a TEAM to the promised land -Coach Collins KNOWS that, AND more importantly he has a group of players who KNOW that as well ...

A team good enough to beat a very strong Chillicothe squad by 22 is definitely a huge task for anyone to take on but I'm glad we are doing it before the tournament, win or lose.pfloyd wrote:... not sure if there is "A" team that can matchup with Portsmouth right now !!! TribeManiac10 ... you are absolutely right - play 'em now for sure ... game plans are meant to be adjusted during/after games in prep for the NEXT time around ... Peebles will bring their own "headaches" for PHS to try to stop tonight - it will be learning both ways for sure ... best of luck to BOTH of these fine teams ...

It sounds like our JV is struggling in this one. After 3 Portsmouth JV up 55-28.
