Minford at Wheelersburg 2-3

Post by mglight88 »

Any thoughts. Minford took the first contest in Minford. It's very tough to get a win in the Burg, but would be a nice and rare sweep of the Pirates. Wheelersburg has been playing better team ball lately, so it should be a great and close game to watch.

I agree that Burg is playing much better in the past 2 weeks than they have all season. If Burg is able to continue shooting well from the perimiter, they will take this one. The keys for Minford will be McCray and Gullion. I think Gullion surprised Burg the last time with 8? in the first quarter, but I think Barrick will have a better game plan for the freshman this time around. Hopefully Burg shoots better from the foul line than they did at Minford!

GO PIRATES!!

Good game Falcons, four games remain on the schedule. at Rock Hill, home with West, home with Valley and home with Oak Hill.
A possible 15-5 record, much improved from a 7-13 record last season.

I agree with madd dogg. the burg players lost their composure and didn't play with discipline. That is a direct reflection of the coach. I even heard Barrick tell his assistant coach to shut up with a few expletives as loud as that gym was. That would be very embarrassing. I'm not sure why his assistants would put up with that.

Pretty Hostile night @ the Burg, with players getting into it on the court, coaches and cheer blocks fired up all night.. Just added to the game, made for a very intense game and a very good one at that.. Massie was on unconscious from three land I think with 7 on the night and around 25 pts. kept Burg in it, McBee handled the adversity thrown at him all night and had 5 threes and 27 points of his own..That was just 2 rivals going at it all night.. Great game to watch as a spectator..

I agree that booing everytime Mcbee touched the ball was disrespectful, but the minford cheerblock wasn't very respectful either. I heard them say plenty of things when certain burg players had the ball that were disrespectful as well.
Congrats to the falcons and Mcbee with his 27. Massie also 25 and should of had 27 with the bucket they took away saying it touched the cord when it was no where near it. Both boys played their hearts out. Good ball game.

And just what exactly did you expect these KIDS to do under the circumstances??? You see the same thing in college ball. I'm sure it was all in good fun and they were just trying to rattle his chain which obviously didn't work since he scored 27 points.

4th n Goal

Eddie Miller had the same number of points and McBee had several travelling turnovers early in the game and also threw several passes away late in the game which allowed Burg to stay in the game. Miller was the better point guard in this head to head matchup.
bounce
Eddie Miller is a very nice player, and one day be the better PG. But it isn't even close right now McBee is a asset to any team

post from the first match up ... 2nd game defense on Miller and he has 4 pts, McBee 27 pts .. Nuff said !!
