What does coal Grove need to do to have any chance in this game?

Since coach Boston passed away recently, our local cable has been replaying the 1981 playoff game between CG and NY at Tanks. I believe believe it was the first playoff game in school history for both schools.
CG missed a field goal down by 2 with under 2 minutes to go and NY was able to run out the clock on their way to their first and only state title.

I was 10 years old and i remember that CG team. I was from RH at that time and i believe that was the year that RH and CG were both 8-0 going into that game and CG won like 33-0 im thinking.
Would love to see that video of that game you are able to watch.

Call Movies 10 in Nelsonville and see if you can get a copy. I'll warn you that it is a copy of a copy and the quality is rough lol

Joe Ross was a senior during the 83 season on the team that played Belpre in the Tank

Not looking good for Ironton with the Wilson kid out for the season.

I think coal grove has a very good chance at not only playing but upsetting the tigers. the tigers will have to stay focused and play sound fundamental ball here to win this one. the tank will be a rockin place.

If Wilson is out this game might be a toss up. They have other good players but he's their short yardage grinder. Not to mention the void left on defense. Ironton already lost the speed kid.

Tanner will be missed for sure, I believe Freshman FB Fosson will fill in nicely. The 3 Offensive Lineman that were injured is really going to hurt if they can't play.

Orange and Brown, I have had many people tell me that the Coal Grove/Nelsonville-York game at Tanks Stadium is the best game they have ever seen. Oak Hill was in the OVC at that time; lost to CG by a field goal (for the OVC Crown I think) which in turn, lost to N-Y by a field goal.

Gotta see an OVC team beat Ironton first before I'll pick against them. Until then, I still see the defending champs running the table.

I saw where tanner wilson tore his acl. so this is a tough situation for the fighting tigers and most of all aaron and his family.and we pray he has a speedy and full recovery. as I'm sure everyone in''fighting tiger nation'' is praying for him.

Redmen came out unscathed, the starting full back had an ankle injury from the previous weeks game and did not play.
