WK 1 South Point @ Portsmouth
Re: South Point @ Portsmouth
Another factor in this game will be Portsmouth at West the next week. West plays Fairland and as usual we will try to get through that game without showing all our stuff. Same for Portsmouth. After Clifford watches us scrimmage, he will know that they have to be ready come week 2.

If you want to beat South Point, then you'd better use White and Johnson all night long.
Im sure they will be used
Re: South Point @ Portsmouth
I cant understand why people think jus because a team is in a bigger confrence they will automatically win.any given team can win on any night.your an idiot if you dont belive that.so dont count South Point out.
Re: South Point @ Portsmouth
and its sad how everyone on here from ironton never wants to give any ovc team any credit.

after losing the senior class we lost??
I think this next group has a lot of talent, but I also think they are going to need one more year of experience as starters to expect to much out of them.
I do think they will have a decent year

Portsmouth lost a lot, and I don't think they will be quite as good as last year (although they'll be close in overall talent), but when you look at the scheduling, dropping Zanesville and Logan should help the Trojans in the W-L department.
Despite the losses from last year, I'd say any less than 6 wins is a disapointment, with 8 being a possibility. It will be hard to get young kids to come out and play well every night, but they'll be a solid football team IMO.
As for South Point, the Trojans should get out of week one with a win by 2-3 scores. The Trojans overall team speed as well as the strenght of Prior and Cadogan should be the difference.
Best of luck to both teams in 2008.
Re: South Point @ Portsmouth
if this group can put together a winning season, they will sure be fun to watch next year.
and I really do think they will finish above 500/

Re: South Point @ Portsmouth
Well, scrimmages are over, time to get the good stuff. Portsmouth still has some issues but physically we have good size, some speed and a lot of athletic ability. If they can work out the rest of their kinks this week they will be a challenge for anyone on their schedule.

That has to be one of THE dumbest posts I have ever read....0 for the decade in the SEOAL???? Maybe against P-Town and a few others but come on....Athens, Warren, Marietta those 3 have had very few solid teams the last 10 years. I doubt that Warren or Athens could have won the OVC the last 10 years. Didn't SP knock off a very strong Burg team a few years ago? I also think Ironton would have struggled with a few OVC teams last season....yes I said Ironton. I think Fairland had an attack that could have given the Tigers fits all night long.
Re: South Point @ Portsmouth
south point will not be as easy a win "if we win" as some people think.
Athens is not in the league any longer.

I'm not making any predictions (pick'em notwithstanding)...but I believe the South Point program is on an upward swing and will be more formidible than some are giving them credit for being.
