Back in the day, we always played in Athens for the State Tourney.

I think they use three different fields for the tourney including OU and Athens HS, not sure about the third location. All locations determined by the draw the night before the tourney.

The other field for state tourney, is Dalton field on West State Street.

I heard that Portsmouth won today 4-3. Wamsley threw a complete game.

Post 23 did in fact win today against Post 62 from Chillicothe 4-3. 23 lost its first game of the tourney and came all the way back (DAILY) to win the District 7 tournament at Paints Stadium.

Adam 'Peanut' Wamsley threw a complete game for the boys in blue. Good hitting and defense were the keys to victory today. Bryan White went yard in the first inning to give 23 an early 2-0 start. I do not remember how we scored the third run. In the 9th inning with 2 out, Aaron Oesch hit a triple and Daniel Armstrong followed with an infield single to drive in the winning run. 62 scored its 3 runs on 2 sacrifice flies and a HR.

Post 23 moves on to the state tournament in Athens beginning Aug. 4th. I know the PDT has not had any articles (suprise ) about the games being played but the Chillicothe paper has been covering the tournament.

CONGRATS 23!!! That's great news. I was only about 5 minutes from the VA today around 11am and tried to get there, just couldn't make it happen. Good luck in the state, hope to see you there.
