Opinion: Federal Hocking - Are they real?
Hey, go check out Hardwood Heroes' Ian McConville's piece on the Federal Hocking Lancers - He still needs some convincing, but sees the potential. What do you think? Go check it out!

No, they are not real. The entire squad is a figment of Ian's imagination...... :122245

Fed Hock has a 7footer and a great coach,IMHO they go as far as the guards allow them. If Parsons can hit 3s they could be a tough out.
In the past Howie does great when he plays teams twice in a season, in the tourney he has struggled at times when he plays teams for the first time. I also think a transition team like Belpre is FHs worst matchup.

Looks like a great opportunity for the Stomp and Stare v. the Scream and Scowl debate.DUNK1 wrote:Of course we are for real. My boy does it everywhere he goes. Change a culture of losing into a culture of winning. Intimidate the refs. Play defense. Let the wins follow. I knew it would happen it was only a matter of time. I just wish my grandson was paying closer attention.

They are the real deal. Where can I get my D3 state tournament tickets?
Re: Opinion: Federal Hocking - Are they real?
Dunk1- when you are talking about your grandson are you talking about the coach at Southern. Maybe I am not following your line of thinking here. The way I see it maybe your son should be paying closer attention to your grandson.

I thought Jr. Caldwell was his cousin or nephew, in real life...

Uh, a nephew means the parent of the nephew is a sibling (brother/sister) - hence making the grandfather to one - and a father to the other.
(i.e. Jeff Caldwell's dad is the brother of Howie Caldwell)
Now, I'm not a 100% sure - its not like I'm a family friend or anything ... But that's what I can figure from reading posts on here.

Re: Opinion: Federal Hocking - Are they real?
Dunk 1 the father of Howie says they are father and son.
Re: Opinion: Federal Hocking - Are they real?
I always thought, and this goes all the way back to when Jeff came from Eastern to play for Howie at Southern, was that Jeff and Howie were cousins. My confusion now comes from Dunk 1 who calls them his son and grandson. How about clearing this up for us Dunk 1? Unless of course we are dealing with an imposter here. Anyone know the true story here?
Re: Opinion: Federal Hocking - Are they real?
Howie's father Howard and Jeff's father Jim are brothers.

All you have to do is ask him who he is, the next time you see him at the Coolspot in Tuppers Plains, since his moniker on here is also his vanity license plate on his vehicle. Just sayin'. 8)supermama wrote:Dunk 1 is not Howard Sr. Who knows who this wanna be Caldwell is?BePurple wrote:I always thought, and this goes all the way back to when Jeff came from Eastern to play for Howie at Southern, was that Jeff and Howie were cousins. Making sense now. I really had been thinking Dunk1 was Howies dad. Started to figure las night that I had been deceived. Thanks for clearing it up.
