Corey Elijah Kissling, 18, of Logan, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008.
He was born Feb. 27, 1990. Corey is a 2008 graduate of Logan High School. He was a three-year varsity football player; named Division II-Southeast District Defensive Player of the Year, as well as All-Ohio 1st team. Corey also earned his first-year letter in baseball. His plans were to attend Hocking College, to become a firefighter.
Corey is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jodi (Iles) and David Donaldson of Logan; father and stepmother, Christopher and Betty Kissling and Taylor Hawn, all of Thornville; brothers, Michael and Cameron Donaldson; stepbrother, Matt Buckalew and Sarah Burgess of Lancaster; grandparents, Barb and Jim Iles of Logan, Don and Betty Kissling of Lancaster and Hilde and Rick Allen of Baltimore; great-grandparents, Carl Horn of Logan and Frankie and Kenny Miller of Sugar Grove; aunt and uncle, Jim and Christina Iles; cousins, Amber Jenkins, Jayme Iles and Nick Iles, all of Logan; aunt and uncle, Gary and Stacey Donaldson; cousins, Crystal, Brooke and Felishia Donaldson; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins of Laurelville and Circleville; close friends, Jonathon Bapst, Andrew Pompey, Remington Harper, Lucas Wright, Tony Ellis, Jeshaiah Eggers, Joel Kennedy and Kyle Kennard; and many more.
He will be dearly missed as he has touched so many lives with his sense of humor, his laughter, love and most of all, his smile. Corey, may God bless you as you serve the Lord.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Logan Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Thomas L. Gates II officiating.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
A memorial fund has been established at Citizens Bank in Logan in Corey's memory.
Letters of condolence may be sent to the family at www.brownfuneralservice.com.
