Re: South Webster @ Wheelersburg 1/31
Looks like I have to be the one to say it. The refs were terrible. The first half ended with Wheelersburg at 2 team fouls and SW 0. Sounds like the cleanest game in history but it wasn't. They missed many obvious and sometimes hard fouls both ways.
My favorite was when Austin Loop was going up for a layup and a Burg player basically tackled him. The ref under the backboard gave Burg the ball because it went out on Loop. Fans go crazy. Maybe 10 seconds later there is a timeout called and the same ref walked over to Loop and said "my bad, I didn't see it".

Totally agree, then the ref called a ticky tacky foul on Burg right about the time Webster was about to go into a set for the last shot in regulation. To me that was more injustice to Webster than the Burg.fan_of_swankerpine wrote:Looks like I have to be the one to say it. The refs were terrible. Loop is legit, but Good win for the Burg.

The youngsters are starting to gel at the right time. Holding Loop to zero points in the 4th quarter and overtime simply amazing.

45 points is not going to cut it! I don't get it. Defense is there. With the players and athletes on this team, it should be a 60+ night. Each time on the court. This is a real good team, but playing not to lose basketball.

half court shots win games, i think we need to see more of those....but only when down by 1-2 and there is .4 seconds on the clock. if the rims were only 8 foot and the volleyball line was worth 5 points the game would be so much more entertaining.

Sounds like Barrick coached his butt off. I've seen 'Burg and SW this year, Ater needs to take notes and learn from this. SW had WAY more talent on the court but TEAM is what wins games.

Last time I checked Swanker Pine, you're on a basketball forum and Barrick is winning basketball games. He wins regardless of what type of talent he has, what year it is, or even decade. I don't like Wheelersburg or even Barrick, but give credit where credit is due. The man wins games, and beats teams he isn't supposed to because of three reasons: Class, Respect, and players having faith that he, as a coach, will put them into a position to win games nearly every time they step on the floor. If you knew anything about class and respect, you'd understand that not only the school district and players assist in winning games, but also the coach. Players never get "tagged" with a loss; rather the coach does. And, the last time I observed, Barrick has won more basketball games than you and I have, COMBINED.

No sh*t sherlock, but theres been almost no mention of Burgs players doing the work and there hasn't been as long as I've been on here.

Great win by these young Pirates.
Can someone tell me why I never see Alex Shears name in the scoring column in the paper? Is he no lomger on the team or does Barrick just not play him? He seems to be to good of an athlete to hardly ever see the court.

Good win for the Burg, pretty excited about the game tomorrow night.
