Westfall lost a bunch of players but still should return a lot that saw a significant amount of playing time last year.
Piketon return some very good skilled players.
Adena has the tank(Barnes) running the ball, stop him you have a chance. don't stop him it's gonna be a long night. BTW I read somewhere that they might be considering putting him at QB. any word on this?
Unioto, well they got a coach for the second year in a row it looks like they might be getting some stability
Huntington lost the Kellough boys wonder what weapon they have had hiding on the sidelines
SE word today is new coach coming this will either help them or hurt them more. lets hope it helps them get good things foing
Zt New QB coming in this year lost about 8 starter I believe.
PV Lost some skill players but they always look to surprise their opponents
Whats everyones thought on the leagues this year??????????

Re: SVC 2008 outlook
Top - Westfall and Piketon. Westfall lost a lot but returns four darn good players with Cain, Gibson, Cline and Cobb to lead the way. JV also got a lot of experience last season. Piketon returns about everyone and has upgraded the non-league, kudos to them. They gave Westfall everything it wanted for a half, trailing 14-7 at halftime. Very good offense.
Middle - Paint Valley, Adena and Zane Trace - Paint Valley has quite a bit back from last season, Adena has a fantastic TB in Barnes and ZT has some good young talent that has/can emerge this season. These teams are capable of pulling an upset or two to really fog up the conference race, including maybe taking away a top spot.
Next - Huntington, Unioto and Southeastern - Programs working hard to improve after some bumps in 2007. Kudos to Huntington for picking up Fisher, that's a tough ballgame. Southeastern has a good game with East also.
Good luck to all.

Re: SVC 2008 outlook
I think Piketon if they play solid can upset Westfall, but they will have to bring their A game. Until then, the SVC is Westfalls to lose.

Re: SVC Predictions
Piketon starts today with a scrimmage at Wheelersburg. Coach Gullion has stepped up the schedule with Waverly, Nelsonville York, so this scrimmage will tell a lot about what and who is ready to play.

Re: SVC Predictions
Piketon Played Wheelersburg even. Neither team scored on Offense, however Piketon drove the field 3 times. Piketons defense picked Burg twice and both would have been Td's. My observation was Piketon 12 Burg 0.
Piketon's Defense was very quick and flew to the ball. First scrimage for all, and it showed but a lot of bright spots for the Redstreaks.

Re: SVC Predictions
Williamsport Westfall should win this title, but Piketon could give them a run for their money. The rest of the league will line up behind these two.
Re: SVC Predictions
Until someone beats them, Westfall has to be considered the favorite. I will be rooting for the Red Streaks each week. They have a tough non-conference schedule, and have to focus on each and every opponent, not looking past any particular team. Based on returnees, they have a chance to have a very good season, with possible playoffs berth waiting at the end of the season. Go Streaks!

Re: SVC Predictions
piketon returns 9 on offense and all on defense so they return 20 of 22 starters to be correct
