(coaches) a chain is as strong as its weakest link.
The reason for my writing is that throughout my time of being around sports fans and family of athletes, I have heard them say how much better that the team is. Even though the coach is unexperienced or never put much effort into the program or kids, the parents should say something. I've seen firsthand the schools select leaders of sports because they had seniority or because someone has a little power in a teacher position or family name. Hey hows that helping the athlete? How about the many coaches that quit sports or never participated at all during there childhood days, now strongly slapping the faces of the true by guiding and leading our children to the sport of there choice. Very strange that we sit back and let it go on. The Good Book quotes if the blind leads the blind they both shall fall in the ditch. That's why we see alot of the athletes not being at there peak potential. The foundation(coach) is weak! We often think how great it is to see success of the athlete and how horrible to see ones defeat. Yes I'M stepping on toes, but truth is we can make a change by going to the schools and asking questions. Very often I have seen coaches say," You could have done this, and that. Why didn't you do it?" The problem is there was nothing at that point that could be done due to their training and lack of experience (been there done it ) .Some people are just not made for the job. Wow let's do some checking and find out the truth, starting with ourselves (a link in the chain).Infact I had to go as far as transfering to get the training level that my son was in need of and found that to be a great decission. If this is offensive, shame on you it's all about the the kid's ? or is it

Good post warrior but one thing that i am not totally in agreement with is the thing about coaches who quit a sport or never played at all. I also think that sometimes coaches are hired b/c of their credentials developed while playing not coaching. Coaching and playing are very very different and sometimes a good coach wasn't a good player and sometimes a great player isn't a good coach. I have also seen that sometimes it is the guy that sat on the bench or quit that is a better coach b/c they may be more inclined to be in it for the kids moreso than themself. Sometimes the coach that quit is coaching to prevent kids from making the mistakes that he/she made. I do agree that a family name or a teacher shouldn't give anyone the upperhand when it comes to obtaining a coaching job. All in all a very good post with lot's of accuracy. Bottom line is that bad coaches are bad coaches and should not be offered a job or when discovered they should be blackballed from the coaching ranks regardless of playing experience or political correctness or what have you. Back to the guy that quit at an early age, as long as they make it known that "this was me and what i did and it was WRONG" then lessons can be learned and the sport can be taught as well. I know/knew some horrible players that are good coaches and some horrible coaches that were awesome players at the hs or college level. in my town our battle is the political thing or "name" thing and that has hurt the kids more than once around here. Seems like smaller towns really struggle with that aspect. You made the right choice in moving your son, your peace of mind had to be tremendous in the end.

I don't think it is right to transfer a High Schooler in order to get a higher level of Coaching, they miss out on a year of participation where they could be gaining valuable experience. I do agree that something needs to happen to attain better coaching staff and facilities.
It is about the kids but I don't like to see kids sit out a year for transferring, but I will trust that you and your child made the decision that you felt was best.
Do schools protect a Coaches personal information?

I appreciate all the response on this topic and its all about the seriousness of wrestling or any other sport. experience they say is the best way to do it but what a way to learn ? I would say it could be a very silly mistake to have a coach teach if they never reached the level Im speaking of
