Sorry it does not work that way. Saying they beat themselves robs Wburg of a great effort. Wburg beat ironton. Besides when you give up that td on the last drive figure it out. The Tigers have problems. The Tigers of old would have shut down that last drive.

i'm not meaning to rob the burg of their effort. they played a great game. i'm just pointing out that fact that if ironton didn't have those fumbles it would have been an entirely different game. ironton would have been within ten yards of scoring if not for the first fumble. the second and third fumbles both resulted in burg tds. also, due to the fumbles the defense had to play more. if the tiger's d hadn't had to play so much in the 1st and 2nd quarter they wouldn't had been as tired and may have stopped you guys from scoring that last one.

And maybe if Burg would not have had 2 turnovers that resulted in Ironton scores in the second half they may have not taken the lead either. Goes both ways.

coach,

Still not playing here. Going by your philosophy any loss could be explained away unless the Loser played a perfect game. Some one created those fumbles unless the Tiger backs just layed the ball down and walked away. It is just an unreasonable thing to say. And how about the remarks from the burg people concerning their turnovers. Was that because Burg felt guilty and gave the ball back or was it because the Tigers hit the burg and the burg coughed it up???

And besides all ironton has to do in the closing drive is come up with a stop. That is how good teams become better teams. They STOP those last minute drives. On the other hand Burg was the better team because it executed the last minute drive.

The turnover thing is for whiners.

This is a win-win for both schools. It is a measuring stick game and will bring a big gate and you don't have very far to travel! It feels like week #11 in week #1. After week #1 GO BURG!!!

GO TIGERS!!!

Did I nail that one or what? Good luck BURG!

GO TIGERS!!!

Some people just can not admit to the fact the Ironton has lost a football game. They have to keep making up excuses why they lost. You lost and the game just like last year. You can keep making up any and all excuses you want but it will not change the final score or result of the Game with Wheelersburg winning and Ironton losing.

Well said Farmer!

Ironton LOST, BURG WON!

Yea Ironton had 3 fumbles, BURG had 2...so not that big of a difference.

Ironton needs to face the fact the they have lost the last 2 games to WHEELERSBURG!!!

but good luck to Ironton the rest of the season.

GREAT Game PIRATES!
Keep it going!

I went with my gut feeling and that was that Ironton would win. It's not the first time I've picked against the Burg and it won't be the last. If you want to win this contest or at least stay competitive you have to pick with your head and not your heart. Yes, it cost me a loss in the contest last night, but I just as easilt could have got a win too if not for the great play by little Shank and Andy Stegman.

i'm admitting Ironton lost. that is my whole point. IRONTON LOST. ironton got beat last year in dominating fashion, no doubt. there is nothing else to say. this year, Ironton WOULD have won the game if it wasn't for some mistakes. not just fumbles, there were other mistakes as well.

Coach, You have made it so simple. ironton did the things that PREVENT the team from winning. AS i said before if no one made mistakes all the games would be different. But all sports have errors, unforced errors, and mistakes. QUIT making mistakes and maybe you win. Your statement makes as much sense as saying if "Ironton had scored more points they would have won the game" duh.

I think what you meant to say was "If Ironton did not let BURG score more than them they would have won the game"...but thats just my Linebacker mindset

wow now u have to eat your words. like i have said before some ironton fans are just too arrogant and can't see the real picture. lutz is 0-2 against burg since his return. could the game have passed him by while he was away. just wondering. congrats to the burg.

ytb and bwh. do u all think the tigers will destroy logan too. :122249
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HEY, I LOGGED ON JUST TO EAT CROW PUBLICALLY, GOT HOME REAL LATE LAST NIGHT. AND BEEN MOVING YOUNGEST BAIT IN AT SSU.JUST GOT IN. HAVE I LEARNED MY LESSON, PROBABLY NOT. WHEELERSBURG WON A HARD FOUGHT GAME, I WAS SCREAMING TACKLE THE RECIEVER ON THE TOUCHDOWN PASS. TAKE THE PENALTY , BURG WAS OUTTA TIME OUTS. MAN PLAYOFF ATMOSPHERE IN WEEK 1. I WAS WATCHING THE TOUCHDOWN PASS WITH MY BIMOCULARS, I SWEAR , I THOUGHT HE WAS OUT OF BOUNDS. BUT THATS NO EXCUSE , I'M NOT A REF. JUST A FAN. BUT IT SURE LOOKED IFFY. STILL NOT SURE AFTER SEEING THE VIDEO. BUT GREAT GAME. WE GOT THE SAME PROBLEM AS LAST YEAR, POOR TACKLING. AND TURNING THE BALL OVER. WHEN YOU PLAY THE LIKES OF BURG, IT WILL EAT YOU UP. HERES HOPING THE BURG HAS A GREAT SEASON, THIS HYPE WAS FUN AS ALWAYS. FIGHTING TIGERS. PULL YOUR SELVES UP BY THE BOOTSTRAPS, AND GET READY FOR NEXT WEEK. AND PLEASE WRAP UP WHEN YOU TACKLE, AND TREAT THE BALL LIKE YOU WOULD A MILLION BUCKS, AND HANG ONTO IT. YTB. :-D

Tiger Bait--if it would help you out on that play, I was about 4 feet away directly by that point of the side lines. There was a little over an inch of green grass between his toe that first touches and the white of the out of bounds line. It wasn't much, but it was enough. The sidelines referee had a perfect view of it from his position. He got it right. And I was the closest person, literally, to that play not actually trying to catch the ball and had the best view in the entire stadium. :aaaaa59

(And NO I did not get a picture of it. I need at least 10 feet with the lens I have have so I just watched for once!)

thanks i knew it was close, i always have to watch games with my binoculars , because of my eyes, i was not sure he got his feet inbounds. but knew it was tight. i wished we'd have just interferred with him, took the 15 yarder. and try to run out the clock. cause burg was out of to's. just some food for thought.

No riepo,

i think the coach may be astute enough to post that if ironton scores more points than the team they play ironton might actually win. He does not understand why teams lose.
