I've been to the previous three meetings in Portsmouth and the last two in Warren.

Portsmouth is now #10 in the latest AP Poll. They deserve to be up there. Go Trojans!

Portsmouth was on the wrong end of some calls at the Warrior Dome. They thoroughly outplayed Warren for 3 quarters, but couldn't keep it together. I think we'll see something like the rematch between Bama-LSU. Warren escaped last game, but Portsmouth will dominate this game. I could be wrong, but that's how I see it.

Warren played an outstanding basketball game last night....yes the competition will be much different Friday, but if the Warriors play anywhere close to how they played last night, they have a great chance to win a close game....yes you will guard Hastie, but what about French? what about Ward? what about the bigs? (Henthorn along with Windland and Knost) what about Pannell? what about Patton?....you can't guard 'em all.....here come the Warriors to Ptown!!!!! Finally!!

Key for Portsmouth to win would be either A. shutting down French, or B. shutting down the other 4 players on the court (like Chillicothe did). I still think this game will be just like the last one, and the last game in portsmouth with a W fot WHS. Seems like in both those games PHS just forgot that theres 4 quarters in basketball.

el savior not sure where you get that Portsmouth thoroughly outplayed Warren for 3 quarters in the first game....wasn't it a 2 point game at the half?....basically after a very fast start for Portsmouth, it was even the first half, the Trojans won the 3rd quarter, and the Warriors won the 4th...if you look at several of the games the past few years, Portsmouth has gone out to a huge lead in the 3rd quarter and the Warriors have battled back to win in the last minute....this will be a war for all that is on the line, I expect another classic hard fought game, the best team on Friday night will be the winner.....and have the inside track for the SEOAL championship and a great momentum boost into the post season....

Tobias: tell us how you would play against the boys in blue vs how coach Collins will. I need some insight on this one.

Trojandave, biggdowgg,Tobias I will see you Friday night. This will be my 4th trip to Portsmouth this season, so I think I know how to get there. Always good to talk to great fan like you guys.

I think the matchups in this game will be real interesting. McKinley IMO is the best BIG in the league. London is good but Mckinley has the total game. Can our BIGS contain him?? Evans, a great player, showed that last year at our place. Can take a game over. Jordan, looked good at Logan, you needed him to step up. But after these three I will take the rest of the Warriors and our BENCH. Not saying the Warriors can not handle these players and not taking anything away from the rest of your players. But the key matchups to this game.

The X factor for Warren will be Reese Patton. Has not had a good game scoring. STRUGGLING!!! Plays hard but can not buy a basket. If he comes out of this SLUMP Friday night the Trojans could be in TROUBLE.

A whole lot on the line in this game!! Two state ranked team, the league title; two really good teams going at it Friday. By far the game of the week in Southeastern Ohio basketball. DEFENSE and RUNS will be a major part of the outcome of this one.

See you Friday!!

GO TEAM WARREN WARRIORS!!!!!!!!

Ex-coach 78: I know you have watched Portsmouth twice.......of course at Warren and at Logan......don't know if you've seen any other Trojan games........but in the last 3-4 games Zaide Whitley has stepped up his offensive game, scoring an average of around 13 PPG, while Jayllen Carter has had 4 games in double figures off the bench, including a game high 19 vs. Piketon........Duke Edwards came off the bench vs. Ironton and gave us 10 points and some real feisty play in the paint, which was important vs. IHS........and Duke has had several really good games of late as well.

I've seen Warren twice myself, and I can't say with any amount of certainty that the Warriors have a better bench than the Trojans.........I know for a fact that we have got to check Evan French, who could very well be the best sophomore in the SE District. We certainly can't let him go off like he did vs. Chillicothe.........but I trust that Coach Collins will have a solid plan for this game.........and I'm sure that Coach Maddox will have his kids ready as well.

The Trojans are without question a better team now than they were the first time vs. the Warriors.........whether that translates to a victory or not, we shall see.

The winner of this game has a leg up for the SEOAL title.........we are due for a win over the Warriors on our home court...........hope you have safe travels and that we can chat for a few minutes.
