Re: Gallia has more than 40 report for drills
is it just me or does that seem like a low number of players for the blue
Re: Gallia has more than 40 report for drills
less than 15 per grade can only play with what you got. but i agree a low number
Re: Gallia has more than 40 report for drills
That number was a guess. Don't know if the freshmen were included. Gallipolis has had around 44 or 45 varsity players (upper three grades) during the past few years.
Re: Gallia has more than 40 report for drills
There hae as many 80 players (upper four grades) report for football at GAHS in the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Re: Gallia has more than 40 report for drills
With numbers like that, you really need sophomores and freshmen to get time or at least hold there own in practice to give the started a good look.
Also, a little off topic but does anyone know who I would contact if I wanted to play in the Varsity G Golf outing coming up on the 17th? Called Cliffside but they werent much help.

8610...Call Tom (Mogie) Morgan at Larobi's Piza (Area Code 740-446-0300) or Tom Meadows. they are the co-chairmen of the Varsity G tourney.
As for this year's turnout. GAHS gridders did not have to worry about soccer or cross country sports in the 40s, 50s or 60s, and the athletes did not have to pay for their own shoes, or did not have to pay a participation fee (
$50 per sports until this year, now $90).

$90.00, what a joke. If you have a kid playing 3 sports thats $270.00 per kid. God forbid you have 2, or 3 children. I have spoke to several other people in in some nearby counties and even our county who have no fee at all. I do realise there is some schools who have a much steeper fee but ours is ludicrous. If you raise the fee then give the parents a break on admissions to ball games. How about a family plan, I know this would work and the athletic dept. would get there money upfront. i would hope that we have not lost a kid because of this crappy fee.
