Re: WK 1 Coal Grove @ Meigs
CG BIG in this one.
I'll say 42-14
The posters that think CG will only score 2td's dont know much about the backfield at CG this year.
They will be hard to stop on the running game.

Re: WK 1 Coal Grove @ Meigs
Fans of both Meigs and Coal Grove should be cautious before issuing any brags or their bold and detailed predictions. The junior and senior football class of Meigs, undefeated J.V. team two years ago, have been winners since jr. high but that doesn't entitle them to anything Friday night or the rest of the season. Wins are earned and the Meigs boys will have to bring it every play against Coal Grove. All Meigs parents and fans will need to be there to encourage the Marauders.
Based on the winning records (Meigs 6-4, Coal Grove 7-2?) of both teams last year and the limited information from this year's scrimmages, the Friday night contest should be a close and hard-hitting game. How good both team's defenses will be is hard to predict during preseason with the turnover from last years graduating seniors and the current team not having solidified yet. That being said, with both Meigs and Coal Grove predicted to have a strong running game the outcome will likely be decided by turnovers, execution, and the often overlooked special team play. Go Marauders!

Meigs is going to have a great line on both sides of the ball and a great backfield. I pick meigs by 2 or more

Mapquest, GoogleMaps or whichever you use.bLaCk-N-bLuE wrote:how do u get to meigs football field. any directions would be appreciated. thx
The field is located at 356 East Main St., Pomeroy Ohio 45769. It sits on the Ohio River behind a little resteraunt called McClures in downtown Pomeroy. If you find Pomeroy you cannot miss the field.
Or when you come into Meigs county stay on Sr7, it turns into a 4 lane highway, after it turns 4 lane go another couple of miles and look for exit to your right (the exit is at a business called Alligator Jacks) and it probably says to Athens. Take that exit to the intersection, at intersection turn right. Follow this (like 3 miles) which is Sr 833 until you come to a traffic light at the Ohio River. Turn right at the light and in a mile look to your right for the field.
The field is NOT at the high school.

Wow....
We will see. I dont have a dog in the fight, but I know that it is going to take a very solid football team to keep up with Coal Grove this year.

Meigs looked great on offense, but needs a lot of work on special teams and defense. Good job meigs
