2008 Helmet Changes???

Yes, it is that time again. We have a list of several teams from all over the state that are changing helmets in one way or another (changing decals, color of helmets/mask, adding award stickers, etc.), but we have practically no list of changes for southern Ohio.

Please list the changes that you know of here, as we would love to make the new mini-helmet for this season.

We've heard rumors with some coaching changes and everything, but no concrete info. Also, a lot of people ask us what it takes for us to make their school's mini-helmet. Here's what we need...a scan of the all decals used and a description or picture of the helmet. That's it, we'll take care of the rest. No minimums. We WANT to add your high school.

Can anyone confirm that Athens Bulldogs are going back to the yellow helmets?

The Bulldogs have switched their helmet color to gold. The new gold is very similar to Notre Dame's helmet color.

Cool. Thanks for the update. Did they finalize the decal? Are they switching back to one of the decals that they used to have?

i think Ironton is changing their helmets to plain orange this year.

Athens used to always have "Yellow" helmets with the Green and White "A," it was almost a Packers look. I always REALLY liked the looks of that. I have never liked the green helmets.

I'm not sure I love Gold, but this sounds like an improvement for the Green and Gold. I wish them the best in the TVC.

Will Portsmouth West be adding a decal back to their helmet for this upcoming season?

Fairland still going with the UAB knock off decal.They are however going to go back to giving skulls for awards on the backs of the helmets though which is great.I especially liked the big red skulls with the eyes!

As for the question about the youth league mini-helmets, we have done them in the past, most notably for Fairland Youth Football League. We also the youth's full-size award decals last season.

At the OVC previews, I noticed Fairland was using the Dragon head again, but the stripe was no longer there. I believe is a good thing. Earp, do you know the color of skulls they will be using for awards? Also, in several pictures, I believe some kids had black facemasks while others had dark green. Can you confirm this?

DO YOU GUYS DO SPECIAL HELMETS OF ONE OFFS?

Not really. Lot's of fantasy helmet people always ask us that. We've kind of limited it to this...."hey, my high school isn't on your list and we're in Ohio, here is a scanned decal and some game pics." Then I take care of the rest. Probably the best place to do "one-offs" are places like minihelmetworld.com and such.

I would imagine the skulls will be green. When Snyder was coach before they were green.
