Ohio played a great game, but Iniana put up 7 runs in the 11th to win this one.

Sounds like the Ohio team must have ran out of pitching :(

The Little League pitch count rule really stinks. It just doesn't seem like baseball anyone, it's a Little League version of baseball.

I think the pitch count is one of the better rules that has been put in.W/o it u would see a coach/manager letting kids throw too many pitches and injuring the kids.

I disagree. In all the years I've been involved with Little League, I've only seen a few instances in which a kid threw way too many pitches. Since the pitch count rule, I've seen as many instances in which a coach has forced a kid to stay in the game with a sore arm. This happened because the kid had already gone over a limit that would require him to rest so the coach used up all the pitches the kid had available. I've also seen kids forced to stay on the mound and get killed because a coach refuses to "burn" another pitcher for the next game.

I think Little League has good intentions but there are no rules that won't be exploited by a manager who is smart enough as well as willing to do so.

I have to agree with BWH. The coaches, because of the pitch count, are having to put players in that may have never pitched in a game before because they have to "pitch for the next game" because of pitch count.

The kids this rule was implemented to protect are still the kids that are going to end up hurt because they are still going to throw the pitches, just not in a games (they will during practice)

Hawaii makes it in . The last two teams battling it out are PA and Maryland tonight on ESPN. South Point plays it first exhibition game on Thursday Aug 21st against a team from New York. They also have a game on the 22nd against an international team.

Good point. I think LL makes these rules to make it look like they are doing what's right.

SP is playing an exhibition game at the world series? Which team (age bracket)? Why? Please elaborate...more details. Will this be televised?

It is SP's 11-12 year olds.

They are playing because Mr. Seagraves arranged for a team from his district to participate in a few exhibition games.

I'd say no TV on exhibition games.

South Point is playing 2 games and the reason we are playing is that Glenn Seagraves the outgoing District Administrator invited us to go. He has been involved in LL for aout 40 years and was on the past International board. This is his last year so I guess he wanted his hometown to get a chance to go. I guess it pays to know people in high places. :122249 Previously District 11 sent Wheelersburg and Fairland. This is for the 11-12 year old boys. No it won't be televised but we do get reserved seats for the US and world Championships games which is nice, so look for us in the crowd! :) I also heard that Rock Hill put their name to get to go next year. I hope it works out for them as well.

Thanks for the info! It sounds like a fun experience for the kids. And....since it's an exhibition game, it should be just that...FUN. :)
Good luck, Pointers!

Is this just a one-game deal for them?
