Really though, what channel is this on with Time Warner cable?

Re: watchthezone.com
Can I get someone to tape these games for me?
I will pay for the postage and send you tapes or dvr's to replace the ones you use.
PM Me if you can do this.
Thanks.

I called Time Warner and requested them to drop Cable Channel 9 in Portsmouth (that's WHCP) and add W66CZ in its place.
and they said?

Re: watchthezone.com
I believe these guys were at the Wheelersburg at Ironton game last year. I asked where I could watch it and they said it would be on at a later date.
They had cables all over the Burg's sideline. They should not use cables that close to the field.

Re: watchthezone.com
I have just read some of your comments and would like to say "thank you" for your supports as we try to do this for the area.
I will try to address the questions that I have seen up to this point please let me know if I miss anything.
Please don't get hung up on the letters UHF. Every television has the ability to tune in UHF and VHF. You can get some rabbit ears or a regular antenna and set you tv to either "ant", "NTSC", or antenna and you can see if you can pick it up.
As for the East games...there are two not one and I believe that the secons East game is against Notre Dame which could decide the SOC.
The amount that each school will be involved in are as follows:
6 Notre Dame
5 Wheelersburg
4 Portsmouth
3 West
2 Minford
2 East
2 Valley
2 Ironton
1 Northwest
1 Green
1 Cincy CM
1 Manchester
1 Chillicothe
1 Zanesville
1 Symmes Valley
1 Dawson Bryant
I tried to do as many games as we could possible do and tried to included every school in the county and still have games that everyone would like to watch. Hopefully people will like them.
My team did shoot last years season as well and I'm sorry about the wires at the burg games but until I make it big this is how I have to do it.
I have been working with Time Warner about getting a permanent home on the cable system and they have been very nice about it but have not found one yet. If you call and email it does help speed things up as they use those calls and such to gage the interest level of the community. Hopefuly enough people will call and let them know that they want it.
Well I hope I have shed some light on a few of your questions and comments. I also hope that everyone will be patient and know that my group is trying to do something that we felt the community and kids would enjoy. Thanks!

I didn't see it on Local On Demand last time I looked. Any chance of a webcast?

Re: watchthezone.com
It won't be on local on demand until we send it to Time Warner in Columbus on Monday or Tuesday. Then have have to recieve it and load it into their system. So I am guessing that it will take a week to a week and a half until you can find it online. That is why I suggest to everyone to call Time Warner and let them know the interest level so it will speed up this process.
I don't know where you live but we will be broadcasting last nights Wheelersburg vs Ironton game tonight at 7pm on channel 66 over the air and tomorrow night at 7pm will be the East vs Northwest game. You may want to try and get it with an antenna if you are really wanting to see them sooner then a week or so.
FYI...I am starting to check into webcasting them but I don't know how soon I may have a solution for that or more importantly how much it will cost me to implement.

I have Time Warner and my channel 66 is Food network. I must be missing something. Will I be able to watch the game tonight on some other channel? I have no antenna, will this prevent from seeing the game?

Re: watchthezone.com
Alright for those of you desparately trying to see the football games that I am producing....
Over the Air = broadcast = antenna
Cable = cable
Local on demand = cable with a converter box
Now that we have those base understandings it may be easier to follow...
It will take at least 1 to 1 1/2 weeks for the games to appear on Time Warner's "local on demand". You have to have cable and a converter box to watch the games on "local on demand".
The games air on Saturday or Sunday of the same week as the games are played on "broadcast", which as I stated earlier "broadcast = antenna". It is free to the public but you need an antenna and live in an area that has reception.
I have been in talks with Time Warner about getting my station added to the local cable channel lineup but they have not found a channel for us yet. Anyway, Time Warner has been very nice to me about getting a channel but unless people call and let them know that they really want us on their cable system they will take their time in finding me a channel. That is why I am recommending that you all call them.
My goal in starting this station was to provide local sports and events for our area. My hope is that my station will truly become a local connection for our area.

Re: watchthezone.com
I kept looking for it on cable. I did not read this thread until now. I guess I need to find an antennae. Do you sell DVD or VCR tapes of the games?
Re: watchthezone.com
I will hook up my antennae to my uhf jacks on my TV in the garage. Where is this broadcast fom because I am way out of the normal broadcast range. Forget about TW. They wont even let the big ten network get in. Why would they let a simple broadcaster get in. Wait, we have one!!! TNN, Trojan News Network!! We have hope!

Re: watchthezone.com
I am sorry that you missed the games. Everyone got used to the idea of them being on cable from when I did this with WQCW a couple of years ago. I need to find some way of getting everyone into the mindset of either calling Time Warner or picking it up on an antenna.
We have been looking into the idea of selling dvd's of the games as we would like to give the profit from the dvd's as an annual scholarship. Which game were you interested in?
Demaniac-
It is broadcast from Portsmouth. I don't know where you are but I do know of people who cannot get cable that are getting my station. Also, when I spoke with Time Warner yesterday they told me that they were working with the Big Ten Network and were hoping for an agreement. Apparently the Big Ten Network is owned by Fox and they are trying to leverage Time Warner into carrying a bunch of other channels that are not very popular and that is a big part of the problem.
As for my channel, I have to say that Time Warner has been very nice to me about everything. They have said that they definately want to put my channel on as soon as they can find enough band width to carry it so I can have a permanent channel. They did tell me to get as many people as possible calling and requesting it because their is a monthly report that comes out next week. That report lists the amount of people that are requesting new chanels and it really helps them gage the interest levels from the communitys. So everytime someone calls it will get logged and they will be looking at it next week. So call and call often!
