Its up around Columbus and above. This happened last year as well. Schools cancelled games up to 12 hours before they were to played on forecasts that were usually wrong, but on the same token I can understand they need to err on the side of safety.
Re: Valley @ Minford
At the end of the day....Valley is just scared of Minford. I mean lets let the cat out of the bag here...we dont want to go over to minford at all this season, we have MUCH easier games @SW, @OH, and @Waverly....I mean Im scared thinking about this game. Minford SHOULD be undefeated in ALL sports. I think the only "TRUE" loss Minford has ever or could ever have is if Chuck Norris was on the opposing team..other than that always an excuse for a loss.

^^^ couldn't agree more Jesco White..Jesco White wrote:Who REALLY BENEFITS from this game not being played before the tourney draw? Presently, Valley sits in a solid position for the 4 seed and is in conversations for the 3 seed. The Falcons are the front-runner for the 5-seed and hope to make a case for the 4-seed, while also hoping to avoid dropping to the 6-seed. Now, please answer me this...what difference does it make if you are the 4 or the 5-seed? The game will STILL be played at Jackson and it is STILL a win-and-advance scenario for a Sectional Title.
So, again, who benefits more by not playing until after the draw? Answer........the team that would lose more by losing than they would gain by winning!!!! As far as the way this cancellation affects the conference title, it doesn't! These two are going to play AT MINFORD regardless of when!!! I think it's silly to act like EITHER team doesn't want to play the other! I hate it that the game got postponed, but no amount of whining or finger pointing will earn a win for either team.

Re: Valley @ Minford
Wow, Valley simply didn't want to endanger the kids on the bus or any of the fans that may be travelling to the game. It may be a very short drive for the kids on the bus but some fans, such as myself, would have to from Portsmouth to get there to see the Indians play (Or any other team, of course), not too far but the point is that it's not just a short drive for everyone.
Of course this is all based on what the weather was supposed to be, which was supposed to be bad. It hasn't really turned out that way, but their was concern from all schools I'm sure. I for sure wouldn't want anyone that I care for driving out in what it was supposed to be.

NEW ERA..... lets get this started again today I'm bored ! Looking at Minfords schedule you have 1 quality win at Oak Hill by 9 pts and you played a bunch of small schools and the BIG BOY division youre wins have been against teams with losing records ! Now why would Valley be SCEERED to play you're FALCONS ? Valley has played a much tougher schedule and opponents . If you want to be the best you have to schedule up ! Playing the small school divisions will not get you where you want to be !!!

Valley did because they are scared. SCARED!!!!!!!! They are gonna say there was bird flu to get out of the makeup game. I talked to an insider who told me the bird flu shots are on the way to make it look legit.NewEra wrote:Who cancelled?SOCMAN05 wrote:NEW ERA..... lets get this started again today I'm bored ! Word I'm getting is Valley doesnt want to play this game no matter WHERE it's played. They are scared to death...no worries now, the bird flu is in the mix!!!!JayBruce wrote:Wonder if Minford would have cancelled if it had been their away game?????

I can tell you with 100% accuracy that they absolutely would of laced em up!
Re: Valley @ Minford
No you can't... You're not administration. You can't tell me that with with every other SOC school canceling that wouldn't have felt the pressure to do the same. I was talking to someone very close to the Valley situation and I know the decision was made by the superintendent. I'm sure that she's been watching practice and following the SOC. She couldn't help but think, Valley hasn't lost in a month and a half, but we are scared of Minford! We beat Waverly, but Minford is scary!NewEra wrote:JayBruce wrote:Wonder if Minford would have cancelled if it had been their away game?????

Get a clue! You sound like a 8 year old daring his friend to do something by calling him a chicken. Jesco pointed out that this helps Minford more that the game is after the draw. Valley would have to lose 2 or 3 games the rest of the way with Minford and Oak Hill winning out to keep the Indians out of the 4 or 5 seed. Your argument is juvenile and poorly stated, if all you have is "Valley is scared!"

you can't say for sure that Valley isn't scared.
"No you can't... You're not administration. You can't tell me that with with every other SOC school canceling that wouldn't have felt the pressure to do the same. "
and a few rescheduled for Saturday instead next month.

This thread is definitely worth the time it takes to read. It has made me burst into laughter multiple times. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this thread so full of ridiculous humor!!!!
PS......I hope my bird flu vaccination works!!! My whole family has already been sick this winter.

Hey Swanker,
I can say for a fact that they aren't scared. I'm relatively "close" to the situation. I'm also confident that nobody actually affiliated with Minford's team is scared either.

Re: Valley @ Minford
By the way, I don't blame Webster for rescheduling their game with Northwest for last night instead of next month. Considering they entered the weekend at 5-6 and needing to add some wins to that resume before the draw, I bet they were VERY EAGER to host the last place team in the league.
Re: Valley @ Minford
Valley wanted to play Saturday but Minford did not... I'm not going to start a conspiracy over why that happened, but Minford said it couldn't be done.
