Re: WK 1 Chillicothe @ Brookhaven
Chilli has about 6 penalties on offense alone brookhaven is running the ball at will up the middle.chillicothe pretty much stagnant on offense besides caleb scrambling and getting yards

7-0 haven halftime
Same ol same ol problem for chillicothe line isn't blocking they're standing around doing nothing. QB running for his life.

7-0 haven after 3 quarters. Chillis defense is incredible bending but not breaking. Offense needs to do somethin

Guys I'm not going to lie but brookhavens QB is keeping chillicothe in the football game he continues to make dumb play after dumb play.
Brookhaven breaks a long run 14-0 haven 5:43 left in the game
Chillis defense has played an awesome game just 2 big plays have hurt them.

Re: WK 1 Chillicothe @ Brookhaven
Chillicothe loses 14-7 despite causing 4 turnovers on brookhaven's side of the field. The story of the game was truely the play of chillicothe's Offense and defensive line. The were beat the entire game. Caleb made some nice plays offensively but he simply didn't have enough time to get passes off, and the receivers didn't provide much help either to caleb. Chillicothe needs to find someone who can stretch the field for them because brookhaven ran a 4-3 base defense and man'd up outside, they did nothing special they just ran stride for stride with chillicothe. I can't blame coach Davidson for running the QB draw so much because it was the most effective play for chillicothe just letting Haven's dends run up field.
On the other hand chillicothe's defense was very nice against the pass, their rush defense was not good but that was because of the d line getting pushed back into the linebackers. Again brookhaven did nothing special they didn't "out run" chillicothe no tosses no sweeps they ran right up the middle. If chillicothe can get their Dline and O line together they will be nice, but if they don't they will be in for a long season. I counted 7 plays where the tackles from chillicothe simply pushed the Dend and the D-end ran around them to sack or pressure Caleb, they didn't stay with their guy until the whistle was blown.
That's pretty much the game in a nut shell, why brookhaven kept dropping back to pass is beyond me the QB for brookhaven have 4 fumbles all by himself just dropping back, and getting sacked everytime he was tackled he fumbled.

Congratulations to Brookhaven. Hang in there CAVS. Get prepared for next week. Stay focused. I am sure the coaches will work WITH THE OFFENSIVE LINE THIS WEEK. Sounds like the Defense is doing their part. I am glad this series is finally over with Columbus Brookhaven. Next year we replace them with Columbus Hamilton TWP from the MSL-Buckeye Division. Hopefully, we will also drop Big Walnut after this season too and pick someone up closer to Chilly in SE-Ohio.
Good Luck CAVS

article in the paper calling Chilli's line "possibly the best ever at Chillicothe" a lil premature?

Dshanton, would tend to agree with you... but not totally. That was not a "quote" in the article, but appeared to be a line inserted by the author. Whether he had a "seed" planted before the writing is another guess. I think the point of the whole article was to try and shine a little light on a very underappreciated position. But, it did make me cringe a little knowing these kids were going to speak freely... that's where things can, and do, get taken out of context. Excellent group of young men who know and like each other just as well off the field as they do on it. Other than Quarterback, this unit is probably the most experienced position on the field for the Cavs, but like one of them said, talk is cheap and you must back it up in games. "Speed" defenses appear to be their Achilles heel. The Cavs were beaten, and a little beaten-up last night. They now must prepare for possibly an even BETTER defense next friday. Without knowing what the outcome will be, improvement should be the main goal. Have thought all along, this Chilly team could have an unimpressive record after 3 weeks... and still be a good football team. Here's hoping they are able to stay healthy and hold it all together.

Re: WK 1 Chillicothe @ Brookhaven
i wouldnt pin all the blame on the o-line and d-line, i thought the coaching was absolutely ridiculous. Knights ran the ball WAY to much, they're gonna get him hurt.
They didn't start passing the ball until the last drive where....guess what...they scored. You don't run the ball over and over again when all you do is keep getting stuffed. Every fan in attendance knew what was coming from the Cavaliers' offense.
The coaches really need to wake up and start calling something that will actually move the ball downfield, until that happens, the Cavs will not succeed.
On a good note, Kyle Ramsey (DE) caused havoc in Brookhaven's backfield nearly all game and Shay Netter (ILB) played very good defensively making several key stops.
On offense, there wasn't much to talk about....see above...
