I totally agree Mr. B. It is a big jump for 14-15 year olds. I hope they can get a JV team together that will only make the team better for now and the future.
Tyler Watkins was one of those kids that was able to make the big transition but that is a hard feat. I know Tyler works really hard at what he does. He is a good kid and has lot of heart! You're one of the leaders now Tyler. Do your thing and show them what heart and determination can do. I wish all the player all the luck in the world.
On a side note:
I don't mean to make people mad, I just wear my heart on the outside of my body and I say whats on my mind. Sometimes I need to take a step back. Sorry if I upset others on this thread. I really care about you kids and want to see the best for you all, like me and others had in the past!! I wish I could be there more for you all this year but life has dealt me a bad hand and I have to deal with that now.
GO EAGLES!!!
By the way thank you to Mr. Logue for fixing the fence!! You da man!

There will be some freshmen step up. This could be one of the best baseball teams Belpre's ever seen. If they play smart. Their pitching rotation will be solid and their lineup will be stacked with speed and power. March 31st at the Fort

I am also excited about this year and beyond for Belpre baseball, I am glad to hear there are several freshman coming out, and I really hope we can have a JV team and get some games in. I have watched all these boys from the Freshman to the Seniors play ball for a lot of years they can all hit, and once they get in the groove with defense they are hard to beat. I ask all the seniors to be leaders, be the ones to show the team to never give up, as long as you have an out left in baseball you have a chance, that's what I love about it no time clock. Good Luck Eagles, if each of you players work hard, and realize when you don't work hard you are not just letting yourself down but your team, we will be succesful. Don't give up on plays if you boot a ball go get it, don't pout, run on and off the field it looks good and makes you feel good, if you strike out or get out jog back to the dugout and get em next time, and your team mates will support you. No negativity this year.

Belpre should have pretty good hitting and pitching; the key to a successful season is at the catching position.
Who is going to step up and become a difference maker behind the plate?

Markie Tate is pobably their best catcher but Josh Clark will prolly get the strt on the 31st because they need Tate in the field if Packard is pitching

Belpre's first scrimmage against Wirt Co. Monday went pretty well. Belpre scored 11 runs while giving up only 2. I saw a lot of positives for their first outing.

The pitching looked outstanding. Tate, Packard and Watkins pitched a combined 5 innings. Allowing no runs and only a couple hits. These 3 kids along with John Louge will give them an outstanding rotation.

I couldn't stay for the whole scrimmage, so I don't know the final results. Packard pitched the first three innings. He hit a batter, walked one, grounded out one, had 8 k's, no hits, and no runs.
All in all it was a pretty good outing for Belpre.
