With the two key injuries both two way starters and the 1 game suspension to the full back which really hurts the Devils they will have there hands full in this game but being a big game against Nerk anything could happen ..
Good Luck BLUE DEVILS NOK NERK

Will sleep well indeed. Kicked 'em, especially in 2nd half. Been almost a decade since we've taken 2 straight from the Puddy Tats. Nice start, but gets real tough with Licking Valley coming in next week.

Congrats ZV -
Huge win for the Blue Devils. Considering what they were going through in regards to personel, to not only win, but kick butt, is a testament to your seniors and Coach Grandstaff.

Frankly, I think it had a lot to do with conditioning, too. There were a lot of Wildcats bent over, hands on knees by the second quarter last night. I think basing in how the score escalated through the game sort of follows that line. ZHS was still fairly fresh in the fourth quarter and Nerk was dragging. If it wasn't for their slippery QB, they might not have scored all night.
What I liked last night was that we were physical and went right at them. We've got some great "heart" players on this team, too. And Cole Hudson was the very vision of a true QB last night. Real deal.
For some of you old-timers out there, you may have heard that Donis Toler, who was an assistant coach for 43 years (among other things!), had been battling lung cancer. The Newark game was always his focus, and Granny and the kids had dedicated the game to him. Chad had even told the crowd at the pep rally Thursday night that if ZHS were to win, the game ball was going to Coach T. After the game, Chad made sure he had that ball safely tucked away under his arm.
Little did any of us know until early this morning that about an hour after the game, the invincible Coach T lost his battle with cancer. His calling hours will be Tuesday in our Winland Gymnasium (yes, we'll certainly need all that space) and his funeral will be Wednesday. Guaranteed, that ball is going with him.
