The SOC I appears to be a pretty wide open race this upcoming season. Western seems to be the favorite after making a trip to the district finals last season and returning 3 of 5 starters. I really think it's going to an exciting season. I see a lot of "new" players making a name for themselves this upcoming season.

I see no sense in arguing over predicted standings because I think 5 of the teams in the league could finish anywhere from 1-5.

I do look for Eastern to be much improved. The young guards got some experience last season and Osbourne proved to be one of the best scorers in the league. What about the big kid out there, Montgomerey I think? His development could be the difference maker.

Green has some talent, but a new coach and it is rumored he has already kicked off a starter from last season's team. They need someone to also step in for R. Ratcliffe, who was one of the better bigs in the conference last year.

No way they have more "talent" then Western. This doesnt mean Green can't beat Western, but they dont have as much basketball talent.

60ft.

Would you put Green above Eastern in terms of talent?

Yes, I would, with Osborne....anything is possible, you never know when he is going to go off. The only reason I didnt place them very high in the standings is because I dont know if they can be consistent. Sure they have the potential to upset Western @ Home or Symmes @ Home but I dont see them playing consitent basketball to finish in the top 3, but maybe top 5 in standings. I'm sure they will upset 1 or 2 of the top 3 teams but like I said, I dont think they can consitently beat teams like western or symmes to win a championship....

I understand 60ft. I agree that consistancy because of their large mix of youth will be the hurdle. They may not be in the top 3-4 on paper, but if they can bring consistant effort, I really don't think folks will be looking forward to playing the Eagles this season.

I think New Boston will rank higher than #6.. With the new player that transfered from Green last year. Him & Salisbury will be unstoppable out on the court. ;-)

Salsbury is definetly stoppable. Good shooter, but can't create his own from what I remember. Howell got him alot of open looks last year that just won't be there this year!

Nobody has really said anything about East yet...Im not really sure how they are going to be this year but they have some people coming back that played alot last year as well as a good JV team coming up. They will have Chase Mault, Hood, Rawlins and I believe the key to their success coming back in the Garrett twins. If they improve in bball from last year as much as they did in football then look out. This wont be a very tall team but they will be physical and athletic. It might hurt them a little due to the fact that they will be in the playoffs during football season while everyone else is in the gym but I'll take the playoffs any day.

I'm not knocking him. I'm just telling you with the way he shoots the ball, he can't get his shot off without space. Defenders will be kwying on him(unlike last season), and his shots will be contested. He may not average 17 ppg

I am glad you do and you should. He is a good player. Anyhow, for you NB Tiger fans, why don't you list in order your picks for the SOC 1 race if you think you will do better than 6th.
