Yeah, you are right. They are going to have to quit scheduling some of these 5-5 teams..

But do you really think they will leave the SOC and drop those 5-5 teams?

It's a shame that a Wheelersburg "backer" or "Ironton hater" would make such a statement. The fact that Wheelersburg can stay in the SOC yet still make the playoffs is a credit to the program. Statements such as that just seem to discredit what Wheelersburg is able to accomplish year after year.

tigerdad.... There is nothing to be dazed and confused about! The tigers are walking in to Ed Miller Stadium with a bunch of hungry pirates waiting in search of a WIN for their new head coach. Didn't the tiger fans learn their lesson from last year??? We are the Burg and you will have to learn your lesson like many others who have traveled in your steps. We aren't some Canadian team that has been scheduled! There will be smoke raising Friday night from our cannon as the tigers tuck their tails in their trip back down the river!

With an impressive win, there will probably be a post that the pirates are ranked in the top ten after Friday!

oh yea well all that matters is i know of one tiger player that will rip someones face off friday that will be Guaranteed !!!

Weak schedule??? Just what the hell do you mean by that? They have to play West, Waverly, Minford, Valley, and Northwest every year for the SOC and out of those I would only consider Northwest as weak. Their non conference includes Ironton and Portsmouth every year, of which neither are weak teams. They also played St Clairsville and Johnson Central last season and I wouldn't consider either of them weak. I think for a D V school that they play a pretty tough schedule every year. How else can you explain making the playoffs with a 5-5 record a few back?

You know I wish everyone would get off the guys from Canada. Its cool to play people from different areas even though they might not be as good. Any of your teams would jump at a chance to play a team from there or Indiana or Michigan. Why because it brings something to your team that a team from that far away wants to play you.

tc71: Great post. To add a little, they were one of the classiest bunch we've ever played, the players, coaches and the fans!

My bad and I apologize. It just ticked me off when they said that Burg played a weak schedule when in reality for a D V school they play a very tough and competetive schedule.

I retract my statement about the Canadien team.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ICOMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU BG77. WHEELERSBURG PLAYS AN EXCELLENT SCHEDULE FOR D5, AS WELL AS IRONTON'S FOR A SMALL D4 TEAM. THESE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER PLAYED ANY OF THE KENTUCKY TEAMS DON'T REALIZE , THAT THEIR ARE IN FACT BEASTS TO BE PLAYED THERE. YOU DON'T HAVE TO CONVINCE ME THAT YOU, OR IRONTON PLAYS WORTHY SCHEDULES. FURTHERMORE PEOPLE FORGET WE ACTUALLY HAD YOUNGSTOWN MONNEY, AND COLUMBUS DESALES SLATED FOR THIS YEAR ON OUR SCHEDULE, BUT THEY FELL THROUGH. SO WE HAD TO PICK UP SOMEBODY TO FILL THE SCHEDULE. THE LAST CANADIAN TEAM WE BEAT WON THE CANADIAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. LETS JUST ALL HAVE FUN, AND ENJOY WHAT IS ALWAYS A GREAT GAME. FULL OF EXCITEMENT. AND HOPE FOR AN INJURY FREE GAME. :-D

Is bad as I hate to say it, this puts the Burg in great position to play in week 11.... The Tigers will need an upset to see any postseason action. It is VERY early in the season and anything can happen, but there are only 9 more games to go.
