Marietta tied Athens 1-1. Marietta controlled and out shot Athens. It was a very physical game.

I felt the Marietta-Athens game was an extremely close game and evenly played. Marietta scored on a penalty kick and Athens scored off a free kick.

Both teams had times of controlling play. The Marietta penalty was deserved, but Athens had a claim to a penalty they didn't get soon thereafter and also hit the crossbar with a shot earlier in the game. Yes, Marietta outshot Athens by a few, most of those shots were well over the net from about 30 yards out. The Athens keeper only had one really tough save to make in the second half. The Marietta keeper had to mostly deal with crosses and made a steady save in the last minute or so to keep the tie. In the end, I think a tie was a fair result.

I was surprised that Marietta resorted to the long ball much more than previous years. That's not meant as an insult, just a bit different look than previous years. Athens looked strong on set plays offensively or at least Marietta seemed to have trouble with them on defense.

Jackson plays South Webster today at South Webster . Tuesday they play Chillicothe at Jackson and Thursday Gallia at Gallia.

My kids just called to let me know the game was over. Jackson-3 South Webster-2 Jackson player Steve Martin was injured and transported to Holzer Hospital by ambulance.

Marietta tied New Philly 2-2.

Minford pounds Unioto 5-1.

Warren with the Hat Trick, Price and another player also added one. Price went off late with what appeared to be a leg injury, hopefully he will be alright(no contact on the play)

Unioto was completly outplayed in every way and hopefully will rebound from today's poor performance, all credit goes to Minford for taking it to the Shermans as well.

Clay lost today to West Union 3 - 2 . Clay was up 2-1 with about 10 minutes when the goalie let one slip thru her hands. WU then took a penalty kick for a hand ball in the box to take the 3 - 2 lead with 3 min. remaining. Valentine and Dodrill scored for Clay. They still need help in denfense and midfield. The 2 exchange students will be here by Monday. Hopefully that will fill in the weak spots against St Joe on Tuesday. If not they will be hard pressed to win.

to only score 2 goals on West Union means you need a lot more help than just on the defensive side of the ball.
