Jackson 47 - Wellston 38

Listened to most of the 4thQ. Wellston played the Ironladies tough, but they were able to pull away late despite missing several free throws.

Jackson is now 13-1.

Haha. Sorry to disappoint you, bulldog. Lady Rockets gave them all they could handle.

Hopefully the Ironladies can start peaking the next couple weeks before tournament time.

Wondering if Jackson shot 20%

Wellston played well....Jackson couldn't throw it in the ocean...layups, free throws, put backs...didn't matter.

I have seen Jackson play several times over the last month. It seems that the Ironladies are not playing to the expectations that everyone thought. After the great season last year it appears the girls are having problems playing as a team! I know they have only lost one game so far but have had a few close calls over the last several games. Every team has its ups and downs but it looks like the coaching staff needs to shake things up a bit to put a spark back In the team.

Pretty awful to watch if you're a Jackson fan. Good game from Lydia Poe. Another disgraceful officiated game from the worst crew I have ever watched. Somehow Jackson has had these officials 3 or 4 times this year. Hopefully we will not see them again this year and quite frankly somebody needs to take some steps and decide why this crew is officiating varsity games. Absolutely rediculous.

Hopefully the Jackson girls can shake this funk they are in right now. Time to play as a team and start hitting on all cylinders.

Lydia did have a good bounce-back game. So often this year one or two of the starters has struggled and 2 or 3 others step it up....and those same struggling starters bounce back the very next game.

Anyone know the shooting percentages?

As for the refs.....they are not the reason for the tight game but the 2 times I have watched this crew the one guy calls about 80% of his calls against Jackson. The first time I watched he called 12 fouls under the basket on Jackson and 1 on the opposing team when they were on defense under the basket. It's comical that people around me that don't even seem to be watching the game but still manage notice this. I kind of yearn for the days of Bob Grillo coming out of the stands to referee by himself because the referees didn't show up for whatever reason. He did a heckuva a job by himself during a very intense game betweeen two talented jr high girls teams......I don't even know if he can see, but he can referee.

I love how they can see aglet of a shoelace touch the out of bounds on an offensive set.....twice but can't see a player taking 4 steps. Rules are rules...I get it, but please have the same awareness on both ends of the court. On one end they can read the copyright statement on the bottom of the eye chart while on the other end they are enjoying their favorite Stevie Wonder song.

I agree Ironman92 the reffs did not make for the close game. Jackson had a bunch of fundimental mistakes on both sides of the ball. I know that the Jackson team is young with 4 sophomores starting, but the basics were there downfall last night. This team has huge amounts of petential with a bench that can be just as deadly as the starters when given the chance. Hopefully the Ironladies get back on track for the CAVS this Saturday and show Southern Ohio what there true potentional is.

It's definitely a good thing that the Ironladies can be "struggling" and still be 13-1. As others have said, the team as a whole is still fairly young. They're still improving, while dealing with exceptionally high expectations. The next couple weeks are very important. It's time to start playing their best basketball of the season to win an SEOAL championship and get ready for tournament time. I'm looking forward to seeing how things turn out.

Here is my two cents worth. They turn it over in their half court set entirely two often especially inside. Spacing could appear to be a key? Although, it wouldn't have mattered Tuesday. The girls took a pretty good pounding due to the zebras. I agree, lets hope they don't see them again. Could you imagine those three officals in a big game, say like Marietta in a tournament? :122246

First of all, Congratulations Ironladies on a great season so far!! I have been reading these posts about your games and I just can't believe the negative comments and posts that these young ladies, who are by the way 13 - 1, have been getting. For all of you posting, just remember a couple of things, these young ladies are 13 - 17 years old probably, they are daughters, sisters and grand-daughters. Remember that as you post your thoughts and your coaching comments, if you can't say anything positive maybe you should just keep your mouth shut and be proud of these girls. Again, congratulations on a great season so far, keep it rolling and don't pay any attention to these "wanna be" coaches.

Boy, just think if they were like 8-5 or something instead of 13-1 ... lol ... I can name 30 other teams that would kill to be 13-1 - try and enjoy it & stay positive Jacksonites!

I don't know these girls as well as most of you seem to but I have been interested in this group the past 3 years. Of course 13-1 is great, but does anyone feel that they are playing like most people predicted? Their style seems like a great tournament type of play so hopefully they'll find it and have a couple great games and close out the league title and make a historic tournament run.

Go get em girls!

That seems to be the same type of basketball the boys played you can have the best players in the world if you don't play as a team you will not win.
