I would have to agree with Phillips at Oak Hill. They were supposed to go 10-0 easily and make playoffs. My guess is that he is already doomed.

riverball.....How do you come to the conclusion that Oak Hill was "supposed to go 10-0 easily and make the playoffs?"

In my honest and realistic opinion, I predicted the Oaks at 7-3 or 8-2 before the season started.

I seriously doubt that Coach Phillips is "already doomed" or even that much on the hotseat as mtswngrvsg suggested.

He even took responsibility for the loss last night.

If Oak Hill goes 9-1 and wins the SOC I, my money is on that Coach Phllips is safe and all this hotseat talk of him will be long forgotten. Let's see how the season plays out.

What was Norm telling anyone that would listen back in the spring?

Then again, all coaches put more pressure on themselves to win than what anyone else puts on them ;-)

RUMOR IS THAT COACH PHILLLIPS HAS LOST ONE TOO MANY,EXPECTATIONS IN THE HILL ARE TREMENDOUS.WHEN YOU HAVE THE BEST TEAM EVER YOU HAVE TO PRODUCE.GET READY OAKSTERS WE JUST MIGHT END UP WITH COACH SLOAN,AND A DEEP RUN IN THE PLAYOFFS.WE HAVEN'T BEEN THERE YET,BUT THAT IS THE ONLY WAY THAT PHILLIPS SAVES IS JOB!VERY RELIABLE RESOURCE,I WOULD NOT WANT THE PRESSURE.

You got to be kidding, we've had 2 coaches in 36 years........I hope that coach Lutz is around for several more years. No pressure on Coach Lutz as far as this Tiger fan is concerned.

After this past Friday night debacle, it might be time for the tiggers to look for the next coach!

Was you even at the game to make such a stupid statement.

Are you not giving credit to Wheelersburg for winning the game, they do have a really good team and will go far this season.

DUMB......DUMB......DUMB......Statement from someone that despises Ironton for some reason, keep making your dumb posts so everyone can tell how, oh nevermind you would'nt get it anyhow.

The tiggers gave the game away. This is what happens when you only srimmage some other team only once. Give all the creidt in the to the burg. Ironton at best will be 5-5 if they are luckly!

Hey on a mission, I'm not sure who your very reliable resources are, and it's not really important. But I am pretty sure you won't end up with Coach Slone as the head coach this year. And that is from a very, very reliable source. However, Coach Slone does appreciate the vote of confidence.

With all the expectations at Oak Hill, Coach Phillips is probably on the hottest seat in the area. Hope he can make it through.
