Great comeback by the Pirates with their backup QB running the show. Ironton had one heck of a time stopping him when he ran the ball and then he burns them with the winning TD to another soph. Great poise, determination, and heart by those young men in the face of adversity. It looks like it could be another great year for the Pirates.

Congrats to both teams on a well played game and good luck to Ironton the rest of the year. I hope they go 9-1.

3 turnovers for the Tigers in the first half and 2 for the Pirates in the second half. Wheelersburg scored 4 times and Ironton scored 3 times. In the end it all came down to a point difference.

Congratulations to both teams. Ironton has (of course) improved quite a bit from last season.

BURG wins the chat forum too!!!

Then may I suggest to both of you that you DIY providing game updates in the future since you'd obviously be so much better than I am at it?
Note that I always go back and EDIT my first post to reflect the FINAL score [whatever the outcome] in the SUBJECT LINE where it's immediately visible to all readers.
Yes, of course, I'm "pro" Ironton Fighting Tigers, but I really try just to provide info re progress of the game without any extraneous insulting or derogatory comments.

no prob ca

You only like up date when the Tigers win. If next week is Canada i suspect you will be doing updates. You will not be doing updates when Ironton meets The Champion of the SEOAL Logan Chieftains.

Excuse me - I always do UPDATES on ALL the Ironton games both football and basketball!!!!! I am physically unable to attend games, but I live in the reception area of WIRO - so I listen to the radio broadcast and type on my computer keyboard simultaneously. I was out of town last year for 1 game, but that's the only one I missed doing. How can you say I only UPDATE Ironton's "winning" games? I do ALL of them start to finish whatever the outcome.
Try reading this whole thread!!!!! I was indeed doing updates, reporting on Wheelersburg's achievements and Ironton's mistakes, and the current score at all times. BTW Ironton lost this game, and that fact and details are all there in my posts!
The Thread is a little easier to follow, however, if there aren't multiple interruptions!!!!!

Previous question "Why 9-1" - Duh - because every game Ironton wins from now on will improve Wheelersburg's computer points for having beaten them! Even I am smart enough to know that.

caglewis, I thought you did a wonderful job on the updates. When I am unable to go to the games, I appreciate someone like you doing it. I didn't see any partiality in any of your update posts. It was a great game played by two good teams, and could have gone either way. Keep up the good work.

Im going to suggest an,update "forum" where a mod can lock up a thread, and the one person thats doing updates will be the ONLY one that can post, untill after the game.

Im sure zap can handle that 8)

Congrats to the Pirates, I am near voice loss because of the fourth quarter.

Ironton has nothing to hang their heads about, they played one great game.

I think thats a good idea. Without the distractions we can follow it easier.

Just tell me how - or if - you want me to continue to do an "updates" thread of Ironton Fighting Tigers games. I don't claim to be "good at it"; just someone who is, by necessity, sitting at home with access both to the excellent WIRO radio broadcasts of the games and a computer keyboard. Mercy!
