I think Fairland works out the kinks from last week and gets their offense gellin together and takes this one by 1 or 2 TDs.

Good luck to both teams! I probably shouldn't go against the OVC again...but I picked Meigs to beat Coal Grove, and I'm going with them in this one!

Fairland had an impressive comeback win last year being down 28-12 at halftime and winning 48-43. I see meigs having to come from behind this year but ultimately losing in the end 28-24!!!!!!! Good luck to both teams,

GO DRAGONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meigs looks pretty sound on offense so I think they will win this game. But not without a fight.

Go Meigs

The home team Meigs should win. Fairland has the potential to win but they have yet to come together with this new coaching staff.

Off topic again but Earp did you happen to pay attention to what JD said about goals and not settling for mediocrity. Through all this one of the main things I have taken is a longing for 6-4 or 7-3 and being pleased with tying for the ovc or finishing second. Until players, coaches, and the Fairland community take this to heart that is what we are going to get. This is not a plug for or a slam against any one coach but in my opinion a statement of fact. I took several boys to a UC camp last year and of those boys only 2 were starters. Some had legit reasons but some either didnt have time or were doing something in basketball. That is fine but dont devote all your time to one sport then bitch because you are not good in another. Anyway the bottom line is no matter the coach, lets set our goals high and just not settle for mediocrity just like JD said

Ya he is in a good situation down there!I think he had about 140 out this year!Of course we are talking about a school with over 3,000 kids in it,He told me by next year they will be the biggest high school in the state of North Carolina.Anyway I think the Dragons win this one this week,I think the effort is there and I think we get us a win this week!Once again sorry to get of topic,Thought it was worth posting though,Like to see former players and coaches do well! Oh and I love the setting at Meigs,One of the true "Old School" venues that is left nowadays!Glad they dont have that howitzer gun up there anymore though! :lol:And to anwser youre question FHSAlum,No we did not!We are still open.

Wakefield also has the luxury of having alot of big money people that live in the community. On of subdivisions in the area made a man move his house because it wasn't a half million or more invalue. He only lived in a $350000, Wakefield will also be like Dublin in a few years and have at least 2 HS within a few miles of it. The Raleigh area is growing so fast most kids go to schools in trailers, but most of the schools in the Wakefield community are all real buildings. Hope JD has a great year.

Back to the game Fairland will do ok in the OVC, but not this weekend as they go to Meigs. They will lose big by at least 3 TDs. I have a lot of respect for Coach Snyder, but he should have stayed out of the game as it has passed him by. In the OVC you can be average and do good, but outside the conference you can't do the same old thing cause you will lose and lose big.

Looks to me like Meigs is sound on both sides of the ball. Coal Grove is a good team and good teams make good plays, but Meigs was tough when it counted. Meigs has always liked to hit, and there is a lot of heart on that team. They seem to want this season more than they seemed to last year. I'm looking for Meigs to win by at least two TD's against the Dragons.
