Well, good news for the Trojans.....I took Burg in the pickems so if my trend stays on track like past years the Trojans will win since whoever I pick in this game every year always lose.

Bad karma. Now that you said it out loud, it will be reversed. At least I hope so!
As for me, I still have to go with my gut feeling about this one and stick with Portsmouth. Prove me wrong Pirates!!

Re: WK 3 (1-1) Portsmouth @ (2-0) Wheelersburg
Im gonna say BURG jumps out on top quickly by about 2+ touchdowns and then probably try to coast which is the wrong thing to do with any opponent. I want to see them finish like they start for once and if they do they should be able to go atleast 8-2 if not 10-0
Re: WK 3 (1-1) Portsmouth @ (2-0) Wheelersburg
I have seen both play and I am not at all impressed with burg this yr. WAY to many mistakes. Portsmouth wins in a squeeker
Re: WK 3 (1-1) Portsmouth @ (2-0) Wheelersburg
I agree Burg has had way too many mistakes but if I am correct, fewer in week 2 than week 1 and still causing turnovers on the opponents. I agree with Riepo, we need to keep charging into the 4th qtr. This group, especially the oline needs to continue gelling and so far they havent been able to come out of the games yet so that is good. They will get alot better for SOC play. Its like I said last week, Burg needed to stay in their lanes and keep that misdirection from killing them. i love an agressive D but when you play the teams that counter that speed with angles back across the grain, it hurts. And the safety NEEDS to keep the receivers in front of him. I dont think anyone should be suprised of the first 2 week scores. Both good teams and want to play the Burg to the max. Something I dont think other teams need to deal with. So every week will be a struggle and execution on offense and keys/reads on defense will only need to get sharper as the weeks go on.
This week, at home, revenge for last year. Enuff said!

this isn't even gona be a game... the only advantage portsmouth has is size but with that advantage come the disadvantage of those big boys being out of shape... i watched part of the west and ptown game and ptown was sucking air.. if they want any chance to even stay in this game they had better start running a little more in practice.... BURG by as many as they want....

I think it again will be a good game, as it ALWAYS is despite records or team skills.
Though I think Burg will take this game and learn from mistakes made last week and pulls out a win! 34-10!

Calling for a chance of thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon into Saturday morning. Could play havoc on HS football this week. One hour delay when lighting is spotted.

Portsmouth will be looking for a win but Wheelersburg will not hand it to them. This will be a great football game as always is. Burg will pull this one out close. Good luck to both teams, have a safe injury free ballgame.

Not worrying about the rain, mainly the lightning. If there is lightning, they will stop the game.

Re: WK 3 (1-1) Portsmouth @ (2-0) Wheelersburg
Actually it's only a 30 minute delay if lightning is seen.

better break out the long, yet "legal," spikes for this game ... but in all reality Burg's field does get pretty sloppy after some rain(I've experienced it)... FUN though! lol

Can we just play your JV? I don't want to see our kids get hurt trying to hang with your varsity.

Yeah, but isn't it 30 minutes after each strike. So you could wait 20 or more minutes and have another strike and have to wait another 30 minutes.

That might make this game as long as the opener between east and northwest, we all swore that 3rd quarter lasted 2 days.

As bad as I hate to say it. I just don't think the Trojans will be able to beat the Burg this year. Portsmouth needs to scrap the spread and adjust there offense to fit the players they have. I think the Trojans have alot of weapons that aren't being used right now because the quarterback is the only one with his hands on the ball 90% of the time and defenses are keying on him and eating him up. Mix it up some coach you gotta run the ball some too if you want tto take pressure off your QB. .
