I would like to know one thing. How in the world(****) can Portsmouth have 2 D1 recruits(spelling has failed me tonight) on the line and still not be able to give Myers enough time to throw, or open a hole that can produce a consistant running game????

OMG - biggdowgg and OZZIE get thrown out AGAIN?
You can't go anywhere with those guys around! FIDO, aren't you glad you were safely well away from them? Should we sign them up for an Emily Post etiquette course? Nah - they'd probably flunk. Well, I can at least testify to the fact that YTB not only didn't throw them off his property - he put them to work!

I can tell you one thing, it was mostly alabama
mikes fault, we was doing fine untill he showed up, then 3 minutes later Barny Fiffe was on the scene

Didn't you have a decent field goal kicker when you had Jon Chandler? (At least I think that is who was the player.)

Of course, the Powers That Be decided that Portsmouth no longer needed the sport that produced him. No wonder you have no decent kickers now.

I agree very classless from the wheelersburg people in charge up there. Even the burg people that was tailgating thought they were a joke.

What happen?

Now about the officials. That had to be the worst crew I have ever seen on a football field. Can someone explain to me why the two back guys, stood on each sideline and why didn't one of them stand in the middle of the field., where the QB's could see the one counting down the play clock? Those two guys were so far away from the action, they couldn't of seen much going on. The intentional grounding call against Myers was absolutely horrible. It was not intentional grounding but more on the lines the receiver went one way and Myers threw the other way. Absoultely horrible call that late in the game. They had way to many pow-wows to try and decipher what the call was and how much yardage should be marked off. It was almost as if theyn made it about them and not the kids. I have never seen that many offensive offsides called in a game in my life.

I was standing next to a guy who used to officiate football games and he knew this crew. He told me before the game even started that it would be a "flag fest" and that these guys would screw up more calls than I have ever seen before in my life and he was right. We made fun of them and just shook our heads on most of the calls. The two that stand out to me was the Burg had a 15 yard penalty for a late hit and the official only marked off 12 yards. We watched him step it off and it was definitely only 12 yards. The other was the offsetting penalties. He told me it should have been marked off 15 yards against the Burg which gave the Trojans a 1st down and then 15 yards against the Trojans and a 1st and 15 for the Trojans. Instead it ended up 2 and 12 for the Trojans and they didn't get a 1st down on that series. The delay of game penalties were awfully fast in coming as well. The one seemed like it was only 15 seconds or so after they marked the ball and blew the whistle. Pitiful officiating for both teams. Hopefully neither one of these schools use that joke of a crew again.

Anyway, congrats to the Pirates on going to 3-0 on the season and good luck to the Trojans the rest of the year.

Congratulations to the Pirates on the victory. The Trojans' defense actually played a respectable game......I think they wore down a little bit in the second half due to being on the field so much. It's frustrating to watch the offense because Portsmouth has good skill players, but the offensive line play is just not good enough to sustain anything. Josh Myers is simply running for his life........as good an athlete as he is, he can't make something happen without adequate blocking.

Wheelersburg has good speed on offense and defense, and the quarterback throws a nice ball. No question the Pirates are a playoff team, and they probably will win the SOC along the way.

Nice call on the halfback pass for a touchdown.

Congratulations Burg on the win and good luck rest of the season to Portsmouth.

I would like to know why the tailgaters was escorted off the grounds? Now if it was because of booze then I wouldn't call Burg classless people, since Booze has no place on school grounds where there are so many children around. Before you call Burg classless tell us all the full reason first. Most tailgaters do it on the grass along the road, could that be the reason because you was on the parking lot? Just wondering here and blaming no one with out the story as to what happened.

The line will hopefully start to improve, at this rate they don't look like they'll be dominant anytime soon, but they might become adequate at some point.

there was NO booze, we have no one in out group that drinks, what was bad, was we gat there early, we went inside and ask one of the coaches if he thought it was alright where we was at "it was on the parking lot' we was there early,,4 o clock..we was going to cook early, shut the grill down before the crowd started showing up..he said,,no problem, have fun..so, we get everything out "anyone that knows we have a ton of stuff at these', we fires the grill up 'whitch is attached to a trailer" and cook a couple loads,as it is going a guys comes and says you have to move, we said, we are done cooking we are shutting the gril down, he leaves,,,20 minutes later another guy comes, he wants to know who told us we could be there, we told him,and pointed the coach out,,he leaves....another 20 minutes later, yet another guy comes...a BIG A HOLE, says I dont care who told you what you have to move, the sheriff is on his way, we say OK,,then we ask one of the guys who was in charge and we wanted to talk to him because we wanted to explain we was not using the grill any longer, who ever this guy was comes over, and says , you have to move we need to parking spaces, because the grill is attached to a trailer it had 2 spaces taken up...all over 2 parking spots :122248  ..oh well

Thank you for the info, Sorry you had such a problem there. I do know that they do not allow it on parking spaces and that is why Burg people has their tailgate parties along side of road. But however the main person, whoever that may be should have made the first guy that told you it was alright to come and tell you he was sorry he told you wrong. My guess the main person is the superintendent and if so he is pretty strong headed.
But again Thank you for the info

As for the Trojans, if those huge D1 lineman are not getting the job done then sit their butts on the bench and find someone on the sideline hungry enough to block someone.

Also with White and Johnson out wide and Myers with not enough time to throw, why does the Trojan coaching staff not put them in the backfield and try to utilize their speed there. Still can use them in the slot and out wide when needed. The trojans still need to block but at least these guys are touching the football.

The Pirates got the job done in a poorly officiated ball game on both sides of the football.

Burg needs to work out the stupid penalties early in the ball game. Also several mental breakdowns in the 2nd half while in the red zone. These will kill us in a tight ball game.

Great effort by the defense. Kemper, B.Hall, White and Holbrook all step up with solid performances on D. Some big hits and big plays on D.

Glad to see the Burg passing a bit more. Nice balls thrown by B.Schank. Hopper and Stegman both made nice catches in traffic going to the football.

Great job running the football by J.Schank, B.Schank, White, Craigmiles and Walker.

Work to cleanup the mental errors and penalties and get prepared for Greenup on Friday.

Great job Pirates!
