Guess I'm old school. In my world you don't go on someone elses property and tear something up. Cops usually call that distruction of property...I didn't think it had anything offending on it, or was it trying to intimidate any Marietta people or players.orange&black wrote:slimgarrett wrote:I thought the doll was funny too. Liked the good natured ribbing this yr. In the past it has gotten somewhat nasty from the Marietta side. I think the signs and the doll were cute. What I didn't like was the girl first thing ripping down our sign. Thought that was a little disrespectful and she should've been shown the door for that, but I was somewhat relieved that Mariettas admins weren't going to put up with the nastiness they showed last yr. This was a fun rilvalry game. Hoping both sides can be respectful when they host us at Sutton gym.
Are you serious that tearing down that sign should have got the girl ejected??!! Whoever put up that sign DIRECTLY BEHIND the MHS student section did it to try to intimidate and KNEW it would be torn down. It was disrespectful for the Warriors to put it there!

Ripping down a paper sign is not a big deal. Not destruction of property. I often think the Marietta ss is better and louder than Warren's ss but Warren's fan base as a whole gets louder eventually. So the Marietta kids may have seen that as Warren thinking they were better than them.

Warren kids made the sign "Warrior Wannabees" because marietta kids were dress like warriors. And yes the point of the sign was to "egg on" the other student section, but it was all in fun. No one should be thrown out for tearing a sign down, it was no big deal. All being said I wouldn't dress like a tiger to support warren. Not sure why you'd dress as your rival mascot? You don't see Ohio state fans dressing as Wolverines for the big football game.

One person was dressed up like a warrior. Just one. It was to make fun of the suit worn by a member of the warren student section. Marietta ss used to have a warren shirt on a person and rip it off pregame but that was back in like 07ish.

I heard she did it as a joke since she is friends with many warriors including the boy who actually wears the warrior suit. I thought it was funny,I've never seen anything like that. I think it was clever.

Yea it was pretty funny. The pre game " handshake" between the two was funny also. Just little rivalry things haha can't wait to see it at Sutton.
