Re: warren volleyball

Re: warren volleyball
since when did this thread become an MVP discussion.
Goethel and McMichael are not Misty May and Kerri, but they are excellent, dedicated players who provide valuable leadership.
The other members of this team are all valuable and important to the success.
Bashing players and their stats gets us nowhere.
Jackson on Wed., Go Blue!

Re: warren volleyball
Congrats to the Lady Warriors and their coaches on a successful season.
For a program losing so many seniors, transitioning away from a very successful coach to a new (albeit very successful in her own right) one, I think these ladies really stepped it up and put it together.
We'll be back and ready to roll next year, with most of our starters returning and lots of underclass talent ready to step up!
To Goethel and McMichael: Thanks for everything you've done this season and the leadership you've provided. You're both solid players who still have great potential, and hopefully you both get the oppurtunity to convert that potential into even greater successes.

Both seniors will be missed.
Who will be replacing them? From what I saw and read the varsity went with only one setter, so who they will be without a setter with varsity experience. The Libero can be replaced since more than one player actually plays back row.

the cupboard is really stocked and ready for the long haul! what a great group of volley ball players! they have spirit and skills!
even though this season is over, there is a lot to look forwared to with club ball. go out and get ready for what could be the greatest season ever!
so proud of the whole team!

Re: warren volleyball
from what I've heard there has been talk of moving White from middle hitter to setter and try to rotate in the JV setters (Spence and Zimmerman, I believe). Libero really isn't an issue--we have lots of solid passers in that back row that could fill that job.
Hopefully a bunch of these girls will be on club courts this spring.
The cupboard is most certainly NOT bare, and the '09 Lady Warriors will be just as good as ever.

Re: warren volleyball
Spence, not sure of the other jv setter's name, and Zimmerman all three looked promissing in the setting position, Foy was a setter freshman year, and the Jr. high team has 2 setters that could factor in. Hadn't thought about White though??? If you look what Tammy has coming back, varsity, jv, freshman, and the incoming 8th grade, the question isn't who will fill in, but what will she do with all this talent!
Hannah and Brenna thanks for the show you put on this year, good luck in the future!! Anyone know if these two plan on playing at the next level?

Warren wasn't that big this year, not sure you take one of your best hitters and make her a setter but stranger things have happened.
Re: warren volleyball
work hard off season girls, it'll be worth it i promise! remember how wonderful the wins were and do not forget the pain of losing. then do all you can to feel wonderful again. winning is not for losers, although sometimes winners lose...

And hats off to the Marietta Tigers and Coach Kidder, he took Jackson in 3 games while others just blogged/talked about it. Others speak of full cupboards, I think his is running over and he smiling all the way to the District Semis...........
Re: warren volleyball
warren has a bright future with at least 4 quality athletes coming up from their 8th grade

Talking to some of the parents of the JR highs they indicated some of those four may not play volleyball.

Re: warren volleyball
Why do we have to bring up issues AFTER the season?
it was a successful year that ended a little rough, but the whole team played hard and together all season. We're proud of our seniors and excited about our returners and upcoming freshmen.
