well that is the second time you've mentioned beat ironton.. i can only take your disguising as a prop towards wheelersburg...

Burg does hold the most convincing win for any team in the SOC right now... Still there should be some classic matchups this year. Don't you agree, D-5?

UPDATE:
Just noticed that Bishop-Ready was beat by West Jefferson(D5-REG20) by what i can recall was nearly two touchdowns. Created a shakeup in the regional standinds..

their were alot of highlights about ready getting beat the other night on ONN. I wasn't impressed. They are very small.

Ready typically is very small, but they also typically execute at a very high level and their success over the years speaks volumes about that. They are typically a very fundamentally sound football team, capable of beating any team in this region, but by the same token they are also beatable as well...as evidenced by what West Jeff did to them. Of course, West Jeff is loaded this year and they are going to put a beating on a lot of people.

Can't forget Union Local, St. Clairsville, and Martins Ferry. All 3 should sneak in there somewhere out of that tough Buckeye 8 Conference.

UL should go 9-1 at worst. Have all-Ohio QB candidate in Jordan Barbina. Waverly knows how good he is. Ferry will be there at 8-2 or 9-1, and St. C. can go 9-1 or 8-2.

You're exactly right, but those schools are D-4, Region 15 and this topic is about D-5, Region 19. :122249

Yea I dont understand why West would schedule 4 teams in the same conf. as their non conf. schedule it will kill them in points come the end of the season

I see what you mean, but at least this way you are sure to have a chance at a certain number of points because when they play each other, someones got to win. Like before this year we didn't play South Point. Without that win we would be in trouble. They will win 6 or 7 ballgames. Rock Hill usually wins 7 or 8, but they are down and may not win a game. Chesapeake will probably win 5 games. Fairland will win 3 or 4. What really hurts us and the entire league is Northwest. They are good for their usual 1 win (thank god Manchester just started football). Portsmouth is gonna hurt us also, they may only win 2 or 3 games. Looking at it, we are gonna be cutting it close to get enough secondary points.

big point game friday with Minford. they would probably have to win to get in. there conference wouldn't get them enough secondary points otherwise.

i agree with you siderman...most years your schedule would be a great point getter...but with three teams that usually get 6-8 wins only getting 2-4 wins thats makes burg and minford must wins...could be 8-2 on the outside looking in....lots of points in this region

coal grove will have to win out to make it in the playoffs...

i still wanna see the 3 way tie for SOC and see all 3 teams get a home opener for the playoffs.. oddly enough, i doubt that it would happen.. I don't know which game I would want to see more!

Paint Valley
Liberty Union
Fredericktown

all should get in along with Heath.

That leaves four more teams in my book.

I believe you are exactly correct, and I would expect Ready to get in as well.

I believe those top three teams you mentioned are definite safe bets and then I would expect at least one, if not both, of Heath and/or Ready to get in. Also, I think it's a fairly safe bet that the winner of the SOC II (assuming Burg, Minford or West win it) will also be in. After that, you are looking at two or three spots and quite a few teams pushing for them.

Obviously, it's VERY early and tough to speculate with a lot of accuracy at this point, but it's fun to try and see how accurate we were when all is said and done. :122245
