Ok, I'll bite....

Coal Grove 8th has 5 very talented kids in the backfield, each excel at filling their specific role.....Kyle Estep, Brandon "Hoggy" Hogsten, Bryan Steele, Alex Bare and Tanner Dutey.....I really look for a different one of them to step up every week.

Yo, these guys are gonna be an absolute LOAD right about 2010.

They've got a really nice group of big nasties (Wyatt, Barrett, Bocook, Davidson, Sparks, Newcombe, Danner, etc...) paving the way for them upfront as well.....

Ironton has their own group of talented backs, Trevor White and Tanner Schweickart at fullback. Dion Brown, Brandon Wilson, and Zac Carter as half backs.

Trevor is a beast, a great all around player who never stops. He's also a really good, polite kid. All of the 8th grade boys are good and work really hard. They're fun to watch.

Marietta's 8th grade has a good backfield. Trey Good very fast and hard hitter. The other big back broke his arm in the warren game. His name is Tanner Leach, Big power runner. There are two other good backs, theiman and saterfield. Hope i spelled there names ok.

bigcatmarietta,

I am good friends with both of them. Trey Good is a great athlete he's very strong and he can run very fast.. I ran with him in track last year and he beat every seventh grader at the 100 in the SEOAL. As for tanner he is also very strong and its too bad he got hurt because he's a major influence on that team just being the person and competitor he is. Both are probably two of the best power runners in the SEOAL.

Thanks for the kind words. I am glad you are friends with them. I happen to know then pretty well myself. Here are some stats for you… 8th grade played Hamilton Jr high. Trey Good ran for 156 yards, 1 catch for 21 yards, 1 TD. On defense he had 9 tackles, 5 for a loss, 3 forced fumbles, 2 recovered fumbles. The 8th grade only has 17 active players, we took 4 7th graders to the game with us to sub for Good. 3 of them were Goods subs only on D, and one was used as a linebacker sub. Josh Theiman ran for 70 yards and had 2 TDS. Jordan Saterfield had a 21 yd td catch and 35 yards rushing. Oh and one more thing, that big strong runner old #7…………..May not be done with the season just yet. Time will tell.

We played Hamilton on Wednesday. Those three backs plus fullback Nick Spurr combined for 246 yards. Good had 140 somethin. Theiman had around 60. Satterfield had 3 carries for 35 yards. Spurr had one carry for 5 yards and a few monster blocks. Leach fractured his shoulder in practice and aggravated it against Logan.

Great job on the stats. Just a little off. I posted Goods stats for the game. 18 carries for 156. Plus Defense. Theiman had 71 yards, 2 TD’s and you are correct about Satterfield you forgot that he had a TD reception. You sound like a big fan or a player, that’s great. Get better in practice, and get your team fired up. You still have that WV schedule left. Your team should win the rest of those games. I will be watching them all.

I am a player. Tanner Leach is back. We have beaten both of the WV teams so far and play Blenerhasset next.
