To be even considered as a back at ANY D1 program a sub 4.6 is the absolute minimum. That's RB and/or DB.

I would venture to guess that Nate Cadogan will be playing on the defensive side of the ball in college. More than likely DE. Prior is a big kid that will need alot of work at the next level, but he does have the size that can be worked with.

Wish them and all of the kids moving on to the next level nothing but the best of luck.

This kid will be very good by the time he is a junior or senior. But to say he is a D1 prospect is a bit steep. He seemed slow to hit holes and not able to out run people to the outside. He had 11 carries for 21 yards against us. IMO Lockard is head and shoulders better than him RIGHT NOW.. That is not to say, that with some more game experience and some time to mature he will not develop into a big time player. Best of luck to him throughout his career.

I am in no way shape or form downing this kids ability, just giving you all my opinion on what I have personally watched live.

loyaldevilfan, Jaylen had a subpar offensive night against Waverly he is a freshman .The week before against a very good Minford defense he had a 100 yards on 13 carries. He will make mistakes and have bad games due to his age alone ,he is 14 years old. Although he had a sub-par offensive game against Waverly he had a good defensive night .He put a hit on the runningback (Malone) for Waverly that he wont forget soon.Best hit ive seen in awhile.
Jaylen is about 6' 205 and for his age has good speed.
See ya in week 8.
I hope those boys that were hurt this past friday are doing better we are praying for them in Wellston.

Jalen Prater is going to be a D1 prospect by the time he's a junior...He is already built like a Senior and is just 14...when he is 18 he'll be a beast..he is fast, has a nose for the ball, good grades, and a great attitude and work ethic...he is everything a scout looks for...now how big of a D1 school is yet to be seen but he for sure will be a highly recruited player...Of course my fellow Viking fans will hate on him but thats just sour grapes!!

Caleb Southworth from Piketon should have a good shot at playing somewhere. He has the size and speed they are looking for.

I'm being realistic... A lot of people witnessed it this summer in the weightroom and it was 650 without a box. There is more than one witness trust me. He will set the state record in squat by the time its all said and done. Trust me I couldnt believe it either until I seen it with my own two eyes.

Southern Ohio has a tremendous amount of talent in all area high schools. Southern Ohio is limited in Div 1 talent, or more atheletes would be playing Div 1 level, and they are not, correct? Area players get Div 1 colleges coming to the school visiting them last spring, they do their senior day camps this past summer, do a visit, but who got an offer from Div 1 so far in football. Prior and Cadogan from PHS. That is all that I am aware of, so if a senior player, including my son, and Schanwkweiler from the Burg for example, which was recruited by many Div 1 colleges for football has not gotten an offer by now, then that tells me, he is probably not Div 1 level or at college's top list. That is reality. So I would sound stupid like the rest on here to say that he is a Div 1 player, when in reality, only the Div 1 college coaches that make the offers are the ones that determine that. Parents, HS Coaches or Fans do not determine at which level a player is at. With that said, we have a tremendous amount of young athletes playing at different college levels, and will continue to have our area talented players go on to play at the college level, and that is a great thing and a great accomplishment. I guess my point is, you are a Div 1 player if you get that Div 1 offer and that is the bottom line. If my son gets a Div 1 offer during or after the season, then I can say he is a Div 1 player, correct? But he does not have one now. I can say that he is a Div 1 baseball player right now.

Good luck to all area seniors looking to play at the next level and getting some of your high dollar college payed for.

If Roback was offered from OU then he is indeed a Div 1 player and congrats to him and best of luck. Now we have three Div 1 players that I know of, Prior, Cadogan and Roback. Great Job guys! Let's get some more!
