Coaches are:
Varsity: Head Coach Ryan Werry
Varsity Asst: Curry Ryan
Junior Varsity: Steve Denton

I'm glad Werry is returning.

As far as the starting five for varsity goes i think it will be Mallory Brooks, Darci Leffingwell, Randi McKenna, Katie Farley, and its a toss up between Dolak, Santini, and Chevelier. Either of those three will be a great asset to the team.

I think that that's a pretty good 8-person rotation.

What's the odds Halle Richards will play some varsity?

She'll be full-time JV.

I know that Halle is good, but I think it would be difficult for her to crack that established varsity rotation, at least early in the season. We can't forget that there are a bunch of talented sophomores who will be riding the Varsity bench.

Do you mean you will have sophmores sitting on varsity and not playing JV?? If that is so then that is a mistake. You need to have your best young players playing.

devilsadvocate - I really didn't have to question her it was quite obvious what her intentions were. Or was it just a coincidence that her very first post was directed negatively toward Halle? It seems most people on here are really quick to exclude her from the varisty team. They make these opinions and comments which is fine, but their reasoning is VERY weak! This forum SHOULD be about the Warren Lady Warriors - someone should make a new forum topic called "Why Halle Richards Isn't Good Enough To Play Varsity" - because that is basically what this one has become!!

Are you so certain I am a parent? It appears you know more about me than I do if that is true! Perhaps I am just one of the handful of Warren HS students who can actually spell! I think picking on people for spelling mistakes is G-rated on this forum. Have you seen some of the comments on here about Halle? They are just immature and totally unnecessary.

As for your opinion, I agree.

So take your own advice
Just focus on playing basketball and trying to win games and not worry about who is playing, starting, whatever.

Well teams from over the county, that would be Belpre, Waterford, Fort Frye, Marietta, Frontier. Well all except Marietta are small schools who play in small or weak leagues. Warren has had talented players over the years but when they tried to play Varsity as freshman they struggled. I'm not saying they did play just that they struggled, the latest being Horner and Brooks. You can play or may have to play at one of those other schools because of size, heck except Marietta none of those usually have freshman teams and Fort Frye struggles to have JV teams some years.

big3BLUE wrote:okay. so halle. let me just saying having seen her this summer and seeing her some so far this year she is not ready. this year yes we will be looking for speed but she is not ready to take her speed and help the varstiy team. Brooks, Darci, McKenna, Farley and either Santini or Dolak will handle it just fine. they are who we should be talking about and how they are going to perform. if richards reads this its not going to help her at all. especailly after she broke down at try outs. So richards good luck on JV you'll see varsity soon enough. keep your head up and prove something from the JV level.

but starting 5 how do we think they will get along? any tenion with them?
warrensfinest2010 wrote:im not saying she is not good by any means. she is a good player but needs to work on her mental game a little. shes only a 9th grader and she will only keep improving if she stays down and plays. or would you rather see her sit the varsity bench and get a few seconds of playing time here and there? not to tough of a question.
bubbles wrote:wow, could you be more tactfull?

give it up! give halle a break, she is a freshman and it could be your sister that is being torn apart by the vultures. treat these kids as if they were your family and this thread would be worth reading.

The only one that should not be worried is Brooks and Richards.
If the coach goes with anyone else we know he cracked under
pressure. That is from the school employer to the suck up parents.
It is the same ole same ole at WHS. not how good you are but who
u know! I'm waiting to see if Werry can stand up to the parents and
the employer, Been through this 6 times!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK LADY WARRIORS :122245
