WK 5 Jackson (4-0, 1-0) @ Gallia Academy (2-2, 0-1)
Re: WK 5 Jackson (4-0, 1-0) @ Gallia Academy (2-2, 0-1)
All I can say is it was another nail biter. I enjoyed visiting with gahs4ever at half time where he was holding court. Wow, what good seating he has. Also nice to speak with ironman02 and superblue. Congratulations Gallia Academy. Also want to comment on your cheerleaders. It was really sweet of them to bring goodie bags to our cheerleaders. Both bands sounded excellent, also.

First off, I want to say great game and intensity from the Blue Devils. You fought hard and never gave up.
I think our boys fought hard, but our game plan was not working, and we never made any adjustments to correct our weaknesses. We never involved the passing game or tried to spread the field out until we were desperate after going behind late. We only had 12 first downs for the game, so that says we were not controlling the ball. On defense, we just could not get a stop. Our DB's cannot play 10 yards off the receivers. That young Blue Devil Quarterback took advantage of us, and tore us up. Any time he needed a first down, he always had a receiver open underneath, because we were playing so far off the receivers.
Now our boys must put this game out of there heads, and get on with preparation for next week. On the other hand, I hope the coaches will remember this game and make the adjustments and corrections needed.

Very good post wolfmannum8. I wasn't too happy with what we did defensively either. We always have so much trouble against teams that can throw the football. We give so much cushion that it's easy to move the ball down the field with short or intermediate routes. Anytime that Gallia Academy had a third down situation they would just dump the ball off underneath and pick up the first down. We have to get better in the secondary and more pressure on the QB couldn't hurt either.

I was fired up the whole second half. I didn't get nervous on the 96 yd. drive, I didn't get nervous on the 2 pt. conversion, and I didn't even get nervous on the mistake onside kick. But I did however get nervous when jackson started driving and our student section was getting ready to storm the field. That could have been ugly...I think jackson ran out of time, but hats off to the blue. Thats how a rilvary game should be played. I've been in some crazy jackson and gallia games, you just never know how its going to turn out...

LDF,
Come on you can do better than that. Not many people whoi are Chieftain fans have any reason to 'envy" the devils this year. Try to think before you post.

Do Your Job,
This is Jared's mom, if you don't know.
Leave the 2004 season alone. That TEAM lost two league games and did not win the league, not just Jared.
I still think that 2002-2004 had the best group of athletes that I have seen.
I am talking about all of the SEOAL and Area teams.
Now, If you could have seen Jared the two days prior to the Gallia game, and even up to just 6 hours prior to that game, you would not have even believed that he could run onto the field, let alone NOT come off of the field, after the game started.
Slam me and the coaches for letting him play and thus.... the loss. But don't lay the blame on one 18 year old "MVP". (I am assuming that was a little slam on Jared receiving league player and a smack about his "abilities")
Any hooo...The ball never reached his hands..............bad snap, no snap, wrong count, quick tackle...............doesn't matter, he took the blame for it and lives it over and over again.........thankNNos to remarks from "adults" like you.
Like I stated on another thread........cheer for your team and leave the unnecessary remarks in your mouth.
Congrats to Gallia!
Now, for the Ironmen.... go into the Tank and bring home a victory..........GO Red!
