Gas Prices To Cut Friday's Game Attendance Down?
Gas prices should be really up there by Friday. So how many of you will this keep home this coming Friday? I know Ironton has a long road trip to Logan coming up and I'm sure that will stop a few from that game.
How about it? will it keep you home this week?

Gas prices wont effect Ironton's crowd. I n ever expected a big crowd to go to Logan anyway. 2 years ago, there probably wasnt 100 go to Zanesville. Last years trip to Logan was down as well. Last n ight, there must have been 400 open seats on the home side at an Ashland game.

Burg has a home game, so it won't affect me. Even if they played on the road, if I am off that night, then I'm going. I'm sure it will affect some people though since it would cost quite a bit to travel a long distance to see a game.

It might cost more money but I'll be there to root my tigers on to victory over Logan.

Oil dipped to below $100.00 a barrel today but gas has gone up from around $3.60 a gallon or below to $3.99 per gallon.
What's up with that?

I was thinking the same thing!
....but the problem now is that so many of the refineries in Texas are closed down. Twenty percent of the nation's refineries are closed down right now. It's not like you can just flip a switch to get 'em running again instantly either. It takes a while to bring them back up and you never know what problems you'll encounter then.
The flip side could be though that with higher prices at the pumps, forcing drivers to use less gas when crude prices are already dropping could cause it to drop even further...that's at least wishful thinking on my part anyway

I just looked it up..the shortest route to Logan is 86 miles for me. Round trip 172 miles. If gas prices do hit 5 bucks..it would cost me $57.33. If gas prices are 4.50 I'd be looking at $51.60
I'll go with the big price here just to be safe..
A Trip to Logan? Gas $57.33....Admission price $6.00.....Dinner and Snacks $12.00 Total $75.33.......an evening sitting down with 2old and enjoying good fellowship and warm conversation? priceless!

I will take in two games close to home. I want to take in a Thursday night game in Dayton but if we are getting screwed with 5 bucks a gal I will stay at home.

Nope..I handed the guy at the gate Friday night at Ironton 6 bucks just like everyone else..
Re: Gas Prices To Cut Friday's Game Attendance Down?
No real reason for gas to go up...the gas at he stations now and in the reserve tanks at the refineries was at last weeks to last month prices and no reason what so ever for them to go up so quickly. Oil can go up a buck on the barrell and gas goes up 5 to 10 cents. Oil drops 25 a barrell and it takes a month to drop gas 25 cents. Go big OIL!!!!!!

He runs a private website, has nothing to do for the school.I and many more stand on the asphalt selling split the pot from 5:30 till after the game starts,we don't get in free why would he.
Its 6 bucks and as Mr.A.D sez we are in a downward spiral.Im sure Kantucky enjoys helping out the kids.

I guess $5 isn't too bad then...plus Minford has free parking. If your team is playing too far away, come to Minford Friday night. Minford will be hosting Oak Hill and it should be another good game. You cannot beat it. $5 and free parking. Not to mention really nice facilities, even on the visitors side.
