It's just Ashland... well, not to Russell since they are 3-3 in the last 6 contests. Gonna go with the home cookin of the home team and say Ashland 21 Russell 20.

GO TIGERS!!!

hammerdown wrote:just little Ashland gave your mighty tigers all they wanted friday night.and at your home field where everybody over here knows to win there you must be at least 3 to 4 touchdowns better than ironton to win. not very many teams can be that much better.

Russell has won 3 out of the last 4

the record doesn't really matter when it come to these two teams anyway. russell has been the better team for a long time but in a good football rivalry the better team doesn't always win. Ashlands game with Ironton proves that point. ;-)

We still won for the 17th straight time... so I guess the better team DOES always win in this rivalry. As far as our "homefield advantage"... we have more losses at home in the last 30 years than we do on the road, so explain that one to me! Also read the topic concerning Ashland JV and the mystery flags. Putnam Stadium is the place for terrible inconsistent "homefield advantage" officiating and I imagine you will be stating the same after Friday.

Also...Congrats on winning 3 out of 4 vs. Ashland, but you are still 3-3 in the last 6 years and you still lost 1 in the last 4! How many has Ironton lost in the last 4? NONE!!! The last 6? NONE!!! How many years do you have to go back to find Ironton losing 3 total games to Ashland? 1975! How many will Ironton lose when we start back with Russell next season? NONE!!!

Gosh I bet the grass grows about 1/8th of an inch this friday, while people try to watch this one. Russell should be way to physical for Ashland. I will say 28-13, Russell.

Russell is a much much much better rounded team than Ironton at this point . Though , I am sure it would be close.

Let the flame begin :aaaaa26

Whoa, fella, simmer down. It looks as though my comment bother YOU more than hammer. Sometimes, hammer and I give each other a hard time. He and I both know it is in jest. Your comments are unwarranted. As far as the i town posters to which you refer to as picking on somebody, I am not one of them. If you were to look at the Logan/Ironton forum, you would see that I have not posted one time on it. I prefer not to get involved with the trash talk that I have seen out of the fans from both teams. I wasn't picking on hammer so you don't have to play hero and come to his defense.

Hammer,

If you felt that I was picking on you, I'm sorry. :aaaaa1

No problem. Believe me, even I get sick of some of the arrogance by some of the Ironton fans in some of the posts. We are not all the same.

Believe me, my coworkers have put forth great effort to no avail. However, it is likely that I will be forced to convert in the future as I have little ones who will...cough...cough...likely attend Russell or Ashland. :aaaaa54

Talk to you fellas later, it's time for the mack to go to bed. I worked last night.
