what i dont get is why tony when he played at noseguard didnt rush patrick every play is he just that lazy or taught to do that. russell pretty much handled whoever they put in at noseguard last night although he had a few bad snaps he didnt give up any ground on the line congrats to logan good job tigers lets go to week 6
For some reason...Lutz decided that he was only going to rush the ends on defense...he wanted to give the umbrella effect to where the ends would move the qb to the center and when or if he started to scramble...the line would be waiting there for him...what he didn't account for was that unlike wheelersburg...logan's recievers were smart enough to take advantage of the 15 yard cushion that our wonderful pass d was giving them...
Ironton has two players that are some of the fastest kids in the state in brice and morris...but for some reason as in the case last night...he is afraid to man up on pass coverage...I feel that when a team is taking advantage of the short stuff...as logan did...you have to come out of the zone....
Also...when the ends weren't getting pressure as they needed...lutz needed to let at least one of the linemen blitz...all night long they did nothing...but it wasn't their fault...that was the game plan...and he didn't change it...I'm not going to question lutz....for he has alot more experience than I do...but I can't understand...seemed to me like OSU against florida a couple of years ago...no pressure...leads to points...
Hammer...
By the Way...What happened to Russell....wow....
Now 2 old will be on us next year saying we play easy teams when we play russell.

90,
How about my question. Ironton could be a good team using the pass. How come all the talent is not being used?
Obviously the defensive game plan did not work.

Re: Ironton 10 VS Logan 35 - FINAL
Nope..it looks like Logan comes to Ironton.
Logan's stadium is nice and all but man..talk about a nightmare getting out of there..I couldn't imagine what it will be like if they host a playoff game and it's packed and if the game is close and no one has left early. Don't get me wrong..the facilities are very nice indeed, the field is pretty, lighting is good, intercom is easy to understand and the restrooms are great but...getting out after a game is tough! We were 35 minutes
anyway bucking red..here's Ironton's BB schedule for 08

That is an awesome stadium with plenty of parking and the school looks great, something Logan should be proud of.
Does anyone have an idea of how many people that place is supposed to be able to hold?

Thanks. I'm surprisingly happy with the stadium.
It's supposed to sit between 6000-7000 people. Hopefully the widening of SR 328 will be complete soon. They've made a lot of progress since the first game.

2OLD
you mentioned Ironton having a week schedule on another thread that was locked out.
You make me laugh.....
I guess your calling these teams week........
Nelsonville York......4-1...D5 REG19...#3
Wheelersburg........5-0...D5 REG 19...#4
Ashland, KY..........BEAT 3-0 Russell 36-10
I'll give you the Canadian team.
I guess we won't really know until we finish the season and get to the playoffs.
Logan is a good D2 team don't deminish their accomplishments by slamming on a D4 team you beat 35-10, about the same score you beat two D1 and a D2 school.
Ironton will be just fine and make it in the playoffs even after losing to a good Logan team.
Seems as though everyone has congratulated Logan on the victory now get over yourselfs and move on to next week.
Ashland, KY..........BEAT 3-0 Russell 36-10
buckeye ole buddy did you have to bring that up?
Sorry Hammerdown.............
I was just pointing out that our non league schedule isn't as easy as some seem to think. Nothing wrong with us playing 2 great D5 schools and a good D3 school.
Look at Coldwaters schedule: 1-D3, 1-D1, 5-D5, 3-D6 schools, all great D5 and D6 programs.
8/22....Kenton...........(2-3)....[3:10]
8/29....Kokomo (IN).....(4-1)....[1:0]
9/5.....Versailles.........(1-4)....[5:20]
9/12....Marion Local.....(4-1)....[5:20]
9/19....Anna..............(4-1)....[5:20]
9/26....Parkway..........(2-3)....[5:20]
10/3....St Henry..........(4-1)....[5:20]
10/10...St John's..........(5-0)....[6:22]
10/17...Minster...........(4-1)....[6:24]
10/24...New Bremen.....(1-4)....[6:24]

Re: Ironton 10 VS Logan 35 - FINAL
That post makes no sense..I think there have been just as many people posting on here since the game as before it from ironton congradulating logan on the win and playing a good game....also great facilities...
Re: Ironton 10 VS Logan 35 - FINAL
2 old....I don't know why lutz didn't mix it up more...he has a great qb...who from what I understand won the ohio state punt pass and kick competition this past year and last...he can throw strikes from 40-50 yards...has a tight end that can catch anything close...as you saw on the jump ball....and a reciever in morris that can fly and usually has great hands...
seemed like he would wait until he got in trouble or close to the goal line and then use the pass...heck...we were really driving the ball before the questionable call in the corner of the endzone...and he decided to start passing...I don't know...can't question him...he knows alot more than I will ever know...we all make mistakes though....

Im not wasting my time reading all ths crap. Anyway congrats to Logan. They took it to Ironton. It was said time and time again if Irontons line did what its capable of they would have a chance to win. It didnt do it and Logans line dominated them plain and simple.

Enjoy the beating a d-4 team b/c the playoffs will be short term. How far will you make it in the playoffs?
Re: Ironton 10 VS Logan 35 - FINAL
^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ahhhhhh sweet sweet Ironton whine. The best kind. Good luck to the Tigers. Make plenty of points for the Chieftains. Nice to have the Tigers out there working for us. Heck i even like the Canadian victory now.
One more question. I read all last wek the LUTZ was a GENIUS of the half time adjustment. I have seen NO evidence what so ever of that in three games. Does Amyx make better adjustments or is Lutz just slipping????

Maybe you weren't there? it was 28 to 3 at half-time....the game ended 35 - 10. No, Ironton didn't come back and win but for you to say that there was no half time adjustment that benefited the Tigers seems odd to me.
