The only adjustment was 2 Logan turnovers in the second half that stopped scoring drives. I hardly think either coach deserves credit for that.

... the day of "3 yards and a cloud of dust" - it has left college football forever and NOW high school football is following suit ... Logan has made the transformation to an aerial attack mixed with a ground game that NOW keeps defenses guessing on every play ... Ironton? has the talent, the components that would allow for a passing attack that would make that offense very, very potent - one that would give fits to opposing defensive coordinators every week ... we'll have to watch the rest of the way to see if "the pass" is brought into the I'town offensive playbook as a weapon or just out of necessity when the Tigers "have to" go up top to try an get back in a game ... will be interesting to follow in the second half of the season ...

... great job Purple !!! talent everywhere on both sides of the ball, got to like what we're seeing AND there IS improvement every time the Chiefs step on the field Friday nights ... time to focus on "the 'ville" coming to "the River" for Homecoming this week ...

Kantucky,

Besides the turnovers, logan had different goals with a 28-3 lead.

But Ironton did not adjust. Maybe you can not see it. But I firmly believe tha game has changed. ironton has not kept up. i tell you the Tigers are better if they use all their talent.

Floyd, i looked for you at halftime, after your pregame comments. i will tell you this old 2old wishes he had taken his computer to the game so i could have helped old CA keep those up dates coming. You saw what i have said since last year. Ironton is underutilizing the players they have.

Ironton lossed to a very talented Logan team. We just got beat. We will still brag on our team, town, coaches , etc. Nothing wrong with being proud of your youngins and community. Logan's QB was something special. Good luck to Logan --- you are the real deal.

HEY YOU DOG GONE LOGANERS. CONGRATULATIONS.
you have a fine squad, have not been on here since friday, son in from college, pappy bait's birthday party, coach's meeting saturday. man, you guys have some fine facilities. and definately no problem hearing there. very dusty though. in the lower lot. we were parked right behind the stadium , and was covered with dust. seriously i hope you all win the d2 title for the good of the league. fine program.

as far as the fighting tigers go, it looks like we have the talent for teams our size , and bigger, but you all put 10 , in the box and we still ran. played 12 yards off the recievers, you just do a curl pattern you got 9 yards a play. too, too, much arm tackling. don't understand the touchdown pass to lamb, that was not counted well inbounds, would have made it 28-17 at the time. with 1-1/2 qrts. to go. oh, well. we got a lot of work to do, just on fundamentals alone yet. i figured this year with our passing game that when people put 10 in the box to stop the run, we'd eat them up. we did not take advantage of that.

roll on logan to a state title, but act like you been there. on the computer , you'd be a lot more respected. fighting tigers, on to chilli, and another spread offense, i hope we are better ready for this one, but great game anyway. YTB. :-D

Bait that was the first time anyone parked over in that area beside the stadium. It will eventually be a grass practice field and overflow parking. It wasn't even leveled for the Lancaster game.

The dust won't be a problem later.

Glad you enjoyed the facilities. Good Luck to the Tigers the rest of the way.

I stood at the goal line. The touchdown pass to Morris was good but called no good. I happened to talk to the athlete Saturday. He told me he looked at his feet to make sure they were in before he caught the ball. It didn't matter in the outcome of the game anyway. But one touchdown pass of Ironton's should have been good.Still congrats to Logan and hope to see you at our place next year.

BAIT,

TD pass or not it did prove one thing. Ironton should pass more.

Logan has a fine team this year and appears to be the best of southeastern Ohio. Congrats on the win over the Tigers. But I was looking at Logans other games while making my choices on the picks contest and even Logan fans must agree that Ironton played them as well as the D-1 and D-2 schools have this year. Logan is just simply the best in this corner of the state right now regardless of school size......but I congratulate the Tigers on playing a fine game and welcome them the Chilli town for what is really a must win for both schools!! I just wish I could buy stock in Frisch's here in Chilli because every time Ironton fans come to town for an event, our Frisch's turns orange and black inside!!

hammerdown wrote:hey bait i want the truth no bias was it a touchdown or not?
------------------------ i've got several responses.
hammerdown--- without question, it was a catch, he caught it inside the yellow soccer lines it appeared. which with the extra point, it would have made it 28-17 at the time, with 1-1/2 quarters left to go. i can't understand people thinking that could not have possibly changed the outcome. maybe not. but it would have been an 11 point game. no matter how you cut it.

2old, heck yes we should throw more . we have the athletes. and i don't care what team it is you put 10 in the box, i'd throw on you. to loosen up the linebackers, and db's.

locos , great facilities, worked enough construction to know those was fresh dozer tracks. we knew it was not always gonna be that way. saw a layout of the new facility. i thought that was gonna be baseball, and soccer fields. so where will those be, if that is going to be asphalted. there was a huge crowd there. we had to leave early in the 4th quarter, and it was a huge crowd according to the cars.

2old, scarey we agree on something. but ironton is not evolving with the changing face of high school football. the 3 yards and a cloud of dust days are over. we did not use our talent right this week. wrong defense against the spread. but it's just as much on the players, we are not handling the fundamentals of the game. we gotta go back to ---------THIS IS A FOOTBALL. LIKE VINCE LOMBARDI DID. that said we have a great deal of talent. but with different talent comes evolution in changing to your strong suits every year. it's not a 1 size fits all playbook any more, especially with this brutal seoal schedule. and i like you, hope we never schedule a team, north, or south of the border ever again. with that said, if we really get serious, and play each opponent every snap, every hit. like it's do or die. i don't see us losing another regular season game. but we have to let out the reigns a little, and play wide open football, like we did weeks 1-4. and handle the football like it's a million bucks. we'll be just where we should be. on top of things, this class is too dang talented to be mediocre.

you know, I'm not goin' look this all up for you..you can do it yourself but..you really should spend you an hour or so looking at these teams records and playoff appearances this decade before you make such a statement. You might be pretty surprised at what you find

Kantucky,

You need to look at the last two years. You need to look what happened once ironton opened the game up last week. You need to see a receiver open by 10 yards on everyplay. Pat Angle saw alot of that. i want Ironton to win so I have to root for them to improve. ironton kind of works for the Chiefs now. that big running back is not going to take ironton anywhere. Just not enough speed. Put him on the line where he should be able to help the team.

true 2old. if your just going to waste your qb years by making him hand the ball off 9 out of 10 play. your going to just get him beat up. put him on the line where he can make big holes for a small but faster rb.

Pride,

i backed the right team. You don't see this poster eating crow. The Chiefs are not easy to beat. I tried to warn those guys. But no they all had to post. Well I think the game speaks for itself.

Well, 2 years is kinda a flawed way of looking at things 2old. It's far too dependent on a class or two of talent. I don't think that this decade is ancient history. What I'll be interested in seeing though is how far you guys make it in the playoffs. You're ranked 4th in the state in D2 now?! wow! if that indeed is the case...D4 Ironton sure doesn't have a thing to hang their heads about Friday night! (ps..I think you're stretching the truth about 'scored pretty much at will though..that is funny however ;-) )
