Chillicothe kicker Drew Basil is only a junior and has not signed with anyone. Actually, was only allowed to start getting info from schools on September 1st.

if lutz want to win he needs to air the ball out. let those tall receivers jump for the ball. if lutz would pass more it going to open up more for big old tony murphy.

Go Ironton!
Burg needs this one! Quality wins are kinda hard to come by this year!
Nobody but Ironton seems to want to win!

Not meaning to go back to the Sheridan game, but since it was brought up and not that it would of made a difference but speaking of the O-LINE. Chillicothe had two of there starting lineman missing with an injury.

Chilly and Ironton go at it this friday with alot on the line for both schools. The Cavs seem to have righted the ship the last 2 weeks, while the Tigers took a tough one on the road at Logan last friday. Chilly is also finally back to the good health and depth that took them to Brookhaven in week one. The good thing (if there is one) from some of the injuries, is that the Cavs have added depth. That not only helps on friday nights, but also Monday-Thursday. Oddly enough, this series has involved two blowouts in the last couple years provided by the host schools. That scenario looks a little less likely this year. Chilly is coming off their most complete, and mistake free, game of the year last friday. It all should add up to alot of confidence... let's hope they ride that wave. This will likely be the Cavs stiffest test in the trenches since Sheridan... a game Drifter keeps having "happy" dreams about. Go Cavs!!!

loyaldevilfan,

Caleb Knights our QB has an offer from West Point. We have an experienced seasoned veteran line. We have two seasoned FB's that run in and out, with a third for the red zone. Our CAVS have several RB's that have speed. Our WR's, Flankers, SE's and TE's are the core of our air arsenal and main offense. Chillicothe has always been a passing team, but for the first time in my life watching them, they finally have a decent running game too. Our special teams are making the plays. Our kicker is a Junior and has started since his Freshman year. He kicked a 40 yard FG against the Trojans last Friday and it continued to sail over the Portsmouth scoreboard. That was probably a 50-to-55 yarder. When he kicks off he has been putting several kicks in the end zone. He also is an excellent punter. Our defense has been stuffing teams that run. The differnce this year, they are wrapping up and team tackling. They did not do that last season that much. They stopped Portsmouth twice in the red zone last Friday. The CAV defense helped in the come-back win up at Zanesville by stopping the Blue Devils. Getting the ball back for our Offense to score 17 points in the 4th quarter in the comeback win. They helped defeat last years D3 State Champions on Big Walnuts field up at Sunbury. They stopped the Big Walnuts D1 recruit from breaking loose. We also have a great core of defensive personnel to guard the pass. Chillicothe has intercepted several balls this season. Especially in the Zanesville game.

The Chillicothe vs Ironton game should be a great one this week in our SEOAL. Good Luck to your Fighting Tigers. Hopefully the game will be an injury free game one with great sportsmanship portrayed by both respected schools on Hernnstein Field this Friday.

chillout,

Don't worry about Drifter and his garbage smack talk he is trying to do on our thread. The same goes for 2old. They just can't help themselves, so they have to invade our Chillicothe vs Ironton thread and talk trash about a game that has been already played and is history. They seem to forget they have a thread that talks about their game with Zanesville this week.

One game at a time CAVS :!:

Lamont Cranston,

Great outlook. Hopefully, Drifter and his pal 2old did not forget, their team has a game against Zanesville this week too. I think counseling for their issues on here just might be the ticket. They also have prescription meds for issues like they have too :!:

Instead of crawling all over our Chillicothe vs Ironton thread talking about a game (Sheridan) that is already in the history books and has been over for 3 weeks now.

I do think the CAV defense will have to be prepared for Irontons run and pass to their TE's and tall receivers. Our offense will have to step up in a few areas too. Our game with Ironton should be a great one this week.

the fighting tigers have the goods, this is true. but turn the horse's loose. we are not blitzing at all. wrong defense for spread offenses. zebra77, brought up a great point, bust the reciever, till the ball gets thrown. and our line play has to improve. especially blocking. we gotta quit arm tackling. and our linemen are standing straight up. we are playing way too far off of recievers. and running the ball, when people put 10 men in the box. in short , we are being way too predictable. in short yardage we have a 6-3 qb, and a 300 lb. fullback. and we tried a draw. muscle their butts off the line.

if we play to our capabilities we should not lose another game. but someone said schweikart needs to throw the ball more, you think. but he has to run the call that is sent in by the coaching staff. we also have a great option game when we use it. but you have to loosen up the defense's bowels with screens, misdirection, and intermediate passes. when they are loading up the box. then you nail them with the run. JMHO.

Just the way I like them....lol....If Caleb has Westpoint Looking at hime I am sure there will be other offers as well...Westpoint wouldn't be a bad deal though....I know it requires a commitment afterwards but could be a good experience for him.....

You're Tiger Bait,

This game is gearing up to be a dandy. I like our chances, especially, the way our CAVS have been playing as of late. Each week we are getting more depth and experience for several secondary players alongside the starters. The confidence factor is growing among several CAVALIER PLAYERS. Look for an awesome game this week at the Hernnstein.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'LL BE THERE. THIS SHOULD BE A GOOD ONE. WE JUST NEED TO BE BETTER PREPARED THIS WEEK, FOR THE SPREAD. IF OUR LINE AND BACKFIELD PLAY TIGHT. IT COULD BE A LONG NIGHT FOR THE CHILLI TEAM. WE'LL SEE WHICH TEAM SHOWS UP.

Tigerbait,

If our defense continues to stuff like they have been of late and our RB's and WR's take control of the game, it could be a long night for your guys too. Especially with Caleb being a dual threat.

Good luck, may it be an injury free game. I hope to see you at the game. Buy the way, did you try to PM this morning?
